I am a developer and use logical AND/OR multiple times a day. I found the SD FAQ on searching very confusing however. From the FAQ
"notebook | laptop" will be looking for both notebook OR laptop
This phrase is confusing. Should it not be written: "notebook | laptop" will be looking for either notebook OR laptop?
Syntactically, I don't really understand how this differs from the following comment
"notebook" | "laptop" however will be looking for either notebook OR laptop
I only bring this up because I have difficulty in understanding the returned search results. For example:
@title "LED TV" | @title "LCD TV" returns only a few results while @title ""LCD|LED" TV" returns better results.
What if I want a search where I want to look for "LED OR LCD" AND "TV OR HDTV" in the title only?, but I want the search to be position independent? In other words this should find both LED HDTV and TV LCD or HDTV Panasonic LED?
Thanks in advance. I am sure that the search works just fine, I just can't wrap my mind around the syntax and how it relates to the actual search itself.
