Picked one up at a local Staples last night. They accepted the OfficeMax 10/40 coupon (I had another small item to bring the cost over 40). Store manager had to "OK" it. Net was $30. SLICK!
I used the "Elf Yourself" gimmick posted earlier to get the 10/40 coupon. Funny, whenever I see that it looksl ike "eff yourself"... |

Guy said no problem. Went and grabbed a giant 24 pack of Angel soft toilet paper for $12, never have too much tp, and checked out. Another 500gb drive and a supply of tp for $44 total. ![]() I also got one of the WD 1TB from Tiger Direct on the way for about $56 total. We have a 7 week old son and can't have enough storage for vids and pics right now. |

Did anyone hear of a store limiting the quantity they will sell a single customer? I purchased 58 of these from three different stores (in each store I took whatever they had left, and I had no problems getting them to sell me the remaining quantity they had). I went to the fourth store and they told me they have 30 or so available. I said I will take them all, and the manager came out and told me they “can only sell me three pieces since they were priced so low”. I tried to get him to do more since they originally told me I could take all 30, and finally he said he will sell me 5. Then he accidentally rang up 6 so rather then voiding the transaction and running it through again he went in the back and got me one more for a total of 6. He told me he cant do more because the price is so low. I did not mention that three other stores sold me the rest they had in stock, because I was lucky he sold me 6 (since he wanted to sell me only three originally).
I could see them putting a limit if the sale was going on for another week, since they may not want to sell all the items to one single customer. But the sale is over in another 3 hours or so. I thought they reduced the price by $10 lower then black Friday’s price in hopes of SELLING the rest of them? Oh well, at least I managed to get 64 total. |

Got my drives -- tested with Crystal Disk Mark -- getting 77.39 read and 79.53 write. Solid speeds, but not as fast as my external eSATA (powered, but just as small form factor)???
Windows showing between 75-100 MB/second with a large file. Last edited by thumper300zx; 12-06-2012 at 09:32 AM.. |
