BACK IN STOCK AS OF 29 JAN 2013 (US)

1) Many users report cracking the glass on their Nexus 4. Here's one such thread and pic related.

*This link shows two cracked phones: one from a waist high drop and the other from a motorcycle crash. Doesn't seem like many users are reporting unwarranted cracks.

http://forums.androidcentral.com/...4-yet.html

2) Users report that their phone gets pretty warm at times and that their charger is defective

http://forum.xda-developers.com/s...?t=2004976

3) Battery life is no better than the Galaxy Nexus. Screen-on time seems to be between 3 and 3.5 hours. (I get 4 if I use a custom rom and kernel on the Gnex). Just wanted to add that I've had the phone for about a week and battery life was really bad, It seemed that google maps was taking up a lot of background data. After disabling location services battery life increased drastically.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/s...?t=1992627

4) Reasons why the Nexus 4 is not worth upgrading to if you already have the Galaxy Nexus

http://forum.xda-developers.com/s...?t=1964138

5) Glass around speaker on the Nexus 4 seems to the most prone to breakage. Probably a design defect.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/s...?t=1999345

6) When the Nexus 4 gets hot, and it can do this easily, the screen will turn yellow at the area on top of the CPU. It does this every time the phone gets hot.

After ATT catches your phone model they will move you to a smartphone data plan. I have tried this before with other android phones. Not sure if you can spoof the info they get...

I was assuming that att doesn't have this phone in their database, therefore they would not know if it was a smartphone. I was hoping my assumption is right.

You don't know a damn thing son. Note 2's chip is actually slower than the Nexus 4's. N4's GPU is "far superior", and they tie benchmark scores in Antutu 3.0 WITH N4's thermal throttling, all for half the price off contract. You keep on thinking its "far superior" though, because you're an idiot.

How many GB for that $35 data only plan? If it is less than 5gb, it is worthless compared to T-mobile's $30 plan, with minutes.
Eh, I would say the Note 2 is superior in most cases to the Nexus 4.

Nexus 4 advantages
Slightly faster CPU
Much faster GPU
Faster OS updates
Much Cheaper off contract

Note 2 advantages
Bigger screen (could be a negative if you can't hold the phone)
Expandable storage
Much better battery life
Replaceable battery
Potentially faster data
(Note 2 is faster or even on ATT if you're in LTE area / Both have hidden LTE support for T-mobiles future LTE Network)
S-Pen with a built in screen digitizer
Better camera

The first 2 advantages for the Nexus 4 show up in benchmarks, but I don't think even with Stock android vs Touchwiz that most people would say the Note 2 is noticable slower. The GPU advantage is there, but I would be surprised if there were any actual games that you would see a difference in.

On the other hand some people may not think much of the Note 2 advantages either.

However cool looking the note 2 is, I can't shake off the fact that the note 2 isn't 2X better (or that its better at all) than the N4 and thus isn't worth 2X the amount. I find it hard to imagine anyone purchasing any off contract android phone that costs more than $300 over the N4. I don't watch TV though, so whats the current marketing like? I know samsung advertises like hell so who knows if the average joe even knows about the N4, let alone straight talk.

At $350, what you get with the Nexus destroys the iPhone.
Well I paid $350 also for my iPhone 5 that's the early upgrade fee and a unlock on eBay is only $5 and how does this destroy the iPhone 5 because its a quad core apparently you haven't seen any nexus 4vs iPhone 5 tests have u.

The 16gb Nexus 4 is 350 no matter what, only one source. The International Note 2 has been as low as 550. So the difference is 200 off contract. There have been various posts on ways to get the Note 2 on contract for less than 550 even with etf.

That's pretty nit picky right there... but okay, if you know enough to appreciate the benefits of stock android, then you know enough to root the Note 2 to remove the music players.

Why did unlock it. Was it to use it out of contract. In that case did u not pay eft. Please add that to the overall cost of the.phone.
