Newegg: Cooler Master Notepal X3 Laptop Cooling Pad $9.99 AR. Free shipping w/ Shoprunner

Looks pretty decent, but reviews are all over the place.

From what I gather, the reviewers seem to have paid the full 40 bucks and expected more. For 10 bucks, it looks like its a pretty good deal.

Yea. I was looking for something inexpensive. Taking a gamble, but hopefully this will do.

I have a NotePal X2, the older version of this... and it works great.

Definitely one of the better Notebook Coolers out there... and trust me, I've owned many.

The best 3 brands, IMHO, are Cooler Master, Thermaltake and Zalman. Several review sites have tested these brands and they actually lower the temperature of your laptop, sometimes considerably so that it operates at peak efficiency.

I would recommend the Cooler Master NotePal X2 or X3 or the Thermaltake Massive23 ST or LX.

I'm kind of disappointed I missed out on this deal because I don't think you'll see the NotePal X3 at $9.99 AR for a long, long time.

they are petty good coolers.. Ive got the x-lite x-slim and NotePal ErgoStand w 4-port USB HUB... and they all cool pretty well... this one I would expect to be about the same as its similar design and fan size

also be aware that the cooler master rebates take FOREVER... much longer than any rebate ive ever done... not a fluke either bc ive done 3 with cooler master ... so expect your rebate in 5-6 months!!!! LOL... but they did eventually come!!! thats what counts

Yeah, I blew it. I actually saw it when it was in stock and I hesitated because I just got a Zalman 17 inch Notebook Cooler FAR from Newegg a couple of weeks ago. I also have 2 17 inch iGO Arctic Notebook Coolers from TigerDirect.

I knew this was a $40 Notebook Cooler though... so in hindsight, I should have made the plunge at $9.99 AR.

Oh well, maybe next year it'll be the same for the X4

I saw one of these in person yesterday and it looked pretty nice and was cooling a gaming laptop.

Arrgh! Hate I missed this, getting a new laptop tomorrow. Need a sweet deal like this again asap!

That's a load of crap. They must have had "limited quantities" for this deal.

Yesterday it was OOS and $9.99 AR. Today it's $39.99 and no rebate, but they miraculously got in more stock within 24 hours. What a shocker!

Don't count on it.... at least not on the NotePal X3. You can probably find the X2 on Newegg, Directron or Amazon for under $20 AR at some point in the coming months.... but that's probably as good as you'll get.

They said it's on backorder and will be refunding me (wording was kind of dubious).

I will complain and say I know that they have them in stock and are lying to me.

I placed my order pretty quickly after the deal popped up and I didn't get a cancellation email until this evening, which sounds like someone was going over the numbers and didn't like that so many people ordered it.

Maybe it was a price mistake. Most other retailers are selling it for $35 or $40 with no rebates.

The lowest it's historically been is $29.99 AR.

I'm sure Newegg has a good vendor relationship with Cooler Master since they carry a ton of their products. I just think it's wild how insanely cheap this was (factoring in the rebate), yesterday.

I think it's more likely that it was supposed to be $19.99 AR, and someone from Newegg realized it. Instead of changing the price mid-sale, they just disabled the item as OOS and then put it back "In Stock" today when the rebate was over.

I will settle with them for 20 dollars I have many years of purchases from them, so they may want to resolve this haha. It's not even for me. I wanted it before this weekend b/c it would accompany my grandma's new laptop.

I know. I'm not excusing their BS cancellation e-mail by any means.

If you order something, they should make a good faith effort to fulfill it.

Telling you it's on back-order, yet showing it as "In Stock" on the site at a much higher price in ridiculous.

If they already cancelled your order without you talking to anybody... you don't even qualify for the rebate since it ended yesterday. I would demand that they sell it to me at $9.99 with No Rebates since that's what the price you were going to be paying.
