What he said is true. Well, actually, the D7000 is K-5 level performance, seeing as the Pentax came out first, and except for the sensor was already pretty much laid out in the previous K-7. They both share the same sensor, and save for TINY differences, give nearly identical image quality. But the K-5 is a solid, prosumer body with great controls and great image quality, with its only fault versus the D7000 being the autofocus, although I haven't had any issues with it (and if you go to various Nikon forums, you'll find just as many people frustrated/let down by the D7000's AF system, so take those complaints with a grain of salt).

And before you levy another ad hominem instead of presenting facts, keep in mind that I'm a Nikon DSLR user myself, although I am often with a good landscape photographer friend that uses a K-5, so have quite a bit of experience with it.

The lens is not WR. Better to buy the body and then the WR lens. Pentax has a 18-50 and 50-200mm that are WR for not much. You can also go with the 18-135mm WR. Pentax came with a Pentax 18-250mm but it is not WR.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but when compared to the K-5, K-30 still has that loud plasticy-sounding shutter release that the K-x and lower end bodies have.

Several reviews noted that K-5 has slightly better dynamic range compared to D7000 even though they share the same sensor.

Also, it was noted that K-5 water-resistant sealing is better compared to D7000. It can be deciding factor for photography under harsh environment.
