Interesting...keep in mind I have not tried an Xbox or even a fios set top box yet on this TV.

This TV was for my parents and in the bedroom they keep it in they only use the wdtv on it and so far any video files I play through that on the TV looks fantastic.

If I get a chance to hook up something else on it I'll update the thread.

Ok, I got mine a few days ago and played around a bit with it last night.

1) I don't have HD cable, so I hooked it up to a Seagate FreeAgent Theatre+ and booted up a movie... still not too sharp, but I was running off composite video -- I probably need to use an HDMI cable, yes?

2) The stand in my box was not wrapped in anything and is a bit scuffed up... was anyone else's wrapped?

3) The remote... are some of the labels decals? I didn't peel off the film from it yet, but it looks like the "Sleep +" label is stuck to the back of the film and not to the actual remote itself.

4) Has anyone tried the USB drive yet? I've tried a couple with some .JPGs loaded up and I get "No Media". Does anyone know what the format requirements are for a USB stick, and what media should be recognized?

5) Did some checking for dead pixels:

http://my.opera.com/rejzor/blog/c...panels-for

Could not use the JPGs (see #4 above), hooked up a laptop via a monitor (VGA/D-sub 15) connector and ran the .EXE. I didn't really find any dead pixels, but there was one spot in the lower left quadrant, about the size of pixel, that when you looked at it from certain angles, looked like a black "\". The pixel was lit, but from angles you see the "\". Anyone know what this is? Maybe not a big deal... cannot see it from normal viewing distance, just maybe when you get about 2-3 feet from the screen.

Let me know - thanks.

p.s. - I have another one of these still sitting at UPS. Not sure if I want to go (50+ miles) and pick it up. Overall, do you all think this was a hot deal?

I think I know what your issue is. You probably have the overscan function on (which it is by default). When you have the TV on and your Xbox on press the left and right arrow keys until you get the "no overscan" function.

I bet that'll clear up that picture especially from the Xbox! I completely forgot to mention that in my review.

IMO now a days with pure digital signal there's no reason a HDTV should come with overscan enabled since most of us do not have an analog signal to clean up.

I'm not sure what mine was on, but moving it to no overscan does seem to have improved the picture. It's a lot more reasonable. Movies look fine today, I just think my setup may be a bit close to my couch for viewing. I'm going to put it through some football on Sunday and see if I can live with it.

Thanks for that overscan tidbit, and everyone else for the color settings.

Also, if anyone has smooth pixels on video games, I'd love to see a picture.

Anyone have any issues with this TV? I just received it Friday, didn't open the package until tonight since I finally got around to cleaning my garage and drilling the holes to hang the TV on the wall. I pulled it in, and nothing. It won't power up. I've spent the last hr researching online and can't find a way to troubleshoot this problem. Ahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!

My stand wasn't wrapped it anything but had a clear adhesive protector that I pealed off revealing no scratches or scuffs.

LoL.. yea I plugged it in laugh out loud I just realized I said "pulled' Lol.

Yea, this is terrible. I'm going to give TigerDirect a call, which i'm sure they're going to ask me to call TCL. Blah. Never thought this would happen! I've owned so many TVs in the past 8 yrs. First time unpackaging one that's not working. Yikes! And.... it had to be a time when I finally decide to purchase a non-major-name-brand. Confused

I guess it's true when people say you pay for what you get! LMAO Lets see how this turns out.....

I lost my rebate on the way to the post office, you're better off than me at this point.

Is there any way to submit a rebate without the UPC.. can I use the other label that was above it?

I forgot to scan a copy of the UPC when I mailed the rebate. Would anyone be so kind to send me their scanned copy? I think its just a general UPC code for all boxes right?

I've never owned an LED tv so I apologize if this question might seem naive: It seems that there is some significant bleed through on dark black screens. I took a picture with my phone. On each of the corners there is a spot that is significantly brighter especially at the viewing angle directly in front of the TV while sitting on the sofa. Can anyone tell me if this is normal with this type of TV or if I should be calling Tiger Direct?

I have had similar bleeding on my Phillips LED. However, it wasn't as bad as that, it was mainly in the corners.

Based on many comments on this thread I feel LUCKY! I finally opened my box & the TV looked good, no scratches etc. then I set it up and it turned on fine.

The glass weighted base is sharp looking too btw. I unboxed my new PS3 and hooked it up & demo'd 2 games + blu-ray discs of Adventures of Tin Tin & the Avengers and everything looked GREAT! I wanted to compare a CGI movie & a live action movie with a lot of fast scenes & darkness so I thought Avengers was perfect. There were a couple moments that appeared grainy during the trailers for just a split second but the movie itself looked nice.

And I'm talking the preset out of the box setup here. I see some people like to spend hours tweeking the TV. I think it would be hard to judge for sure if things look better doing this unless you have 2 identical sets next to each other but I may try some of the suggestions just to see.

Due to my ent. center only holding 32 inch sets I have this beast sitting on our dining room table until I have time to move the entertainment center to our bedroom and set up the new one. Because of this I won't be able to see how things look connected to my satellite box.

I have to do the whole "circle of life" bit where the living room gets the new TV & ent. center, the bedroom gets the old living room set and our son gets the old bedroom set. While I'm waiting for the time to move all this stuff I had to find a place to check the TV since Tiger Direct only gives us 14 days I believe to report damages so if anyone is still storing this sealed in the box I advise you to hook it up somewhere just to make sure it works.

Bottom line is for $350 this is a bargain and is definitely "good enough" to be our main TV for at least another 3-5 years if not more.

I just mailed my rebate & scanned copies of all items & the envelope so I can prove I sent everything & to the right address. There should be two UPC codes on the box so for anyone who lost one hang onto the box for the backup or cut it out.

Was wondering if this is a common problem...

I noticed that when I move around windows (on my computer) with white backgrounds it seems that there are hazy darkened patches all over the screen (some seem vertical). They are not usually visible when watching TV. I can only really notice it on white backgrounds and when I move the white backgrounds around (The patches stay in place). I apologize for the poor description. Is this something that happens with LCD tvs?

Thank you!

**upon more research, it might be vertical banding...
http://www.avsforum.com/t/1435655...al-banding
seems like S-PVA panels are more prone than IPS panels to get banding (I'm not sure what kind of panel this TV uses)..... hmmm any input? Seems to be just a tad annoying when the screen pans.

I was charged $499 instead of $449. I called immediately and they said they would credit my CC as soon as it was shipped if I called back I did and they said they would credit it. I then showed $449 on my pending charges. All seemed good. Then I got a order confirmation for a $50 gift card that I did not order and when I checked my CC they charge was back up to $499. I called again and they said that was how they were going to credit me. I told them I did not want the gift card and did not authorize them to charge my card for it. They said they would get back to me in 48 hours. They did not. I called again to today and they said the gift card was my credit. I told them that I want the credit on my CC not a gift card. They said they would contact me within 24 hours. I called my CC and started the dispute process. Hopefully they will fix the situation and I will not have to fully dispute it. I saved screenshots if you need any.

It is very shady on there part to try this gift card scam. After being ripped off once by them why would I want a gift card from them. Who knows what they would charge my CC if I tried to use it.

CircuitCity not TD (no tax)

I had my credit card refunded and recharged on the 29th to $549 (after ship). I know this has been talked about. . .but have not heard of any results.

I just got an order confirmation from TD for a $100 GC, and I am assuming it is related.

Just not what I asked for or was promised. Talked to a mgr after emailing the csr the after checkout screenshot showing order total 449 in the right side of the screen. And he promised me a Credit card adjustment of $100 in 2 days.

a $100 TD GC that will not arrive for 7-10 days (during pre xmas ripoff period). . .no thanks.
