It's a pretty nice graphics card for a Laptop. Better than the Intel 4000. For $550, not a bad price. Add some RAM to the computer and it's a really nice machine.

this would have been cool. Backlit keyboard and under $500 if the 15" version of this lenovo had backlit keyboard it would be perfect. |

Actually not. The number one selling point for this low-medium budget Lenovo is the video card. 2GB dedicated video card vs HD Graphics 4000. |

Differences are: 6gb ram vs 4gb ram, 1gb GT 635 vs 2gb GT 635, 15.6" 1366x768 vs 17.3" 1600x900; Despite the tradeoffs it's almost the same laptop & still available. Last edited by atoneapone; 11-30-2012 at 07:12 AM.. |

Received mine.
1. 4GB stick in one slot. Ramaxel PC3-12800 ram (RMT3160ED58E9W-1600). I bought 2x4G sticks at PC3-10600. Debating now whether I should get one 8GB stick instead 2. Overall satisfied with the laptop. Was worried about the flimsy screen but it was pretty good. Not a fan of cutekey since I like Thinkpad keyboard better. Installing world of warcraft now ... will see how that plays out. |

Check youtube for specific sample gaming results on a setup with this graphic card. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MUFaWNytjJk --minecraft http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5VuplQ6q1q4 --cod black ops So it's more than adequate, and should play every game on the market (atleast thru the year 2014 & even 2015) at around a decent smooth 35-50FPS with a mix of high settings and some medium low settings like shadow detail and sometimes reducing resolution to 1366x768 while 1600x900 and higher may become a little laggy. Usually mid/high-end laptops like this have a 3 year PC gaming cycle (First 2 years should be good, with the 3rd year requiring lower settings.) ![]() A GT 635m is a nice step better than last years graphics gt 540m, gt 550,gt 630m, radeon 7670m, 6750m); (I have last years good graphics 6650m and still get great gaming results; probably will be set thru 2014, so a 3 year cycle for me 2011-2014 and the gt 635m should be good for 2012-2015; Last edited by atoneapone; 12-07-2012 at 10:13 AM.. |

Anytime you can get a good graphic card like this around 2nd class level, then you will be set for playing latest games at reasonable settings at 30FPS for atleast 2 years (& maybe longer)...
But of course 1st level graphics like GT 560m etc will improve on smoothness and FPS at an additional $200 to $500 more (the price of 2 of these laptops). ![]()
