I have added a few pictures to the wiki that show color comparisons FWIW. Hope this can help some of you decide on the color/temperature of the bulbs you order.
There are so many reasons why these 'conversions' are not only illegal and blind others with glares, but will reduce your visibility where it matters!
Even though they are spitting out tons of light, it is in the wrong places. Too much foreground light means you won't see the distance as well.
i dont know why people bitch about it glaring to oncoming traffic so much, i pass by plenty of cars that i know DO NOT HAVE projectors and I've never been angry or overly blinded by it, its no worse than passing by a truck whos lights are at my eye level or higher. Having lights in your eyes is part of driving at night, if you cant handle, dont farking drive. however improperly adjusted 55W HIDs are a different story.
EDIT: also dont listen to the idiot trolls on here who think you have to spend $200+ for a decent kit.
If you dont know what you're doing get a 35 W 6000k Kit. it'll give you nice white lighting. lower k temperature if you want it slightly more yellow but not below 4.5 or it turns into straight yellow.
Yes, more expensive kits will look better, but for $30 you get a ton more visibility than stock bulbs.
Some reflector designs can be aimed even with HID to not blind on coming traffic. I put a kit in my supermoto but I had to aim the lights all the way down to keep the stray bits out of drivers eyes, which in turn cost me a good bit of the extra range they should have provided. That said, I don't ride the bike at night much, I wanted the extra brightness to be noticed during the day with the brights on. It accomplished that nicely.
The 55w HID has started to deteriorate my reflector though.
