Meatballs and the cold cuts are made from garbage. I know because I worked at a Subway.
Repped... Now I know WHY it tasted like garbage...
If these subs were free, I still wouldn't eat them... which is probably why subway associates itself with weight loss ..
Zero appetite = Zero calories
for those on the fence, there are infinitely more fast food horror stories for subway -- from employees (due to very low end franchises.. with very borderline profitability and owner's trying to save every possible penny).. then with all other fast food franchises combined..
Of course you can get better subs, easily.. but compared to other fast food joints, it ain't that bad. Some can be quite tasty, even. And for $2? Not a bad deal, by any means. (Though I'd rather opt for a Banh Mi sandwich for ~$2.50 at a local vietnamese takeout joint. Those things are delicious! And fairly healthy, as well.)
As with anything fast and convenient, at a large chain type cheapo quasi-fastfood restaurant to boot, with the resulting lower quality product (in general terms, compared to other options), moderation is key.
But I digress.. This is actually a decent deal, if you need a quick lunch on the go. Thumbed & repped accordingly.
I stopped eating at Subway ever since I discovered Firehouse.
But at a particular Subway I frequent I'll get the Seafood Sensation(yeah its made from fish, etc) but at Firehouse its the Brisket lately tho its been Arbys (love the Beef n Cheddar on Onion roll esp. @ 3 for $6 ) the 3 for $6 is only at 1 of the 4 Arbys I know of in J'ville FL ..the 2 for $5 French dip seems to be at all the Arbys tho.
Subway is for the most part very consistent. I can remember only 3 where food handling was inconsistent. In one instance a gal went back and forth from food prep to the register. I told her her food handling was horrible. She immediately, and without instruction or explanation, removed her gloves! Not the norm.
Thanks to "caps" for the sig.

Are you sure you aren't mistaken? I mean special Subways at airports, schools, and UCLA Poly Pavilion probably don't have to participate. I've never seen any deals at these locations.
Yes, not all Subway restaurants offer the same good deal. We live over the hills from UCLA in the San Fernando Valley. Nearly two years ago, on New Years Eve, my brother went to Subway and got a few sandwiches and when it was time to pay he was told they were free. I don't know what the deal was; maybe the employee did not like working on New Years Eve.
At a different Subway nearby, however, we saw a large Roach scurrying across the floor. I helped the employee get it from underneath the trash container. I did not report it; I probably should have but I assume they have taken care of the problem; I hope so.
Yeah... well your Corporate people should have a mystery shopper. A corp employee dress in plain clothes and go to the Chicago area Subways and see how many of them in a 20 mile radius that will not offer this deal.
Like the man says... report the stores to corporate that do not participate. I have done that in my area (KC, MO) and it works.
