I have had several of these. I never set up the RF and it works through the cabinet and even under a blanket for me. A great remote conceptually. My only wish is they were built a little better as I am on the third one in about 5 years, and only because one or two buttons stop working. Now, depending on the button, there are workarounds (e.g. program another working button to replace that function. However, when the 'hard' buttons that can not be reprogrammed, you need to replace it. Fortunately, I have been able to get Harmony to replace them all, but I think that ship has sailed.

I can confirm that it is the tilt sensor and it is a great feature to have.
