Baldur's Gate Enhanced

maybe the ipad version if it controls well...I heard you have to install the beamdog client on PC whereas it's already DRM free on gog.com

I am not so sure some of the enhancements are for the better

I looks like the community did better just porting the BG2 changes over. I think I'll give this a shot since I never played the TOTSC content.

that said, baldur's gate dark alliance for ps2 is a classic game, probably because it wasn't made by bioware. it and it's sequel should be re-released on as an hd collection for ps3.

I played the first one on the Gamecube and the second on PS2, enjoyed them. I'd probably pick up an HD collection.

Well, I tried it and it is not good. Looks and feels the same as the old version, the mechanics are up to the BG2 standards in terms of classes and items. The game itself is now less compatible with Windows than even the unaltered version. This is after fighting though the broken install client.

Right now, anyone could install the original version and play it normally. The enhanced version, on the other hand, flickers and crashes if you are using an Intel chipset. I had to force the game to use the nvidia card on my laptop just to see it.

The main addition to the game is just a complete arena style section of battles for little to no reason. On top of all of this, the new cartoon videos are broken for most people. Then run choppy and slow for no reason.

What a waste.

Bummer. I was worried that they were too focus on iPad and from the sounds of it I was right.

Battle Arena? Turned into JRPG...must have a battle arena.

Funny they fixed 400 bugs but put in 1 giant bug.

I kind of resented that they forced you to Beamdog instead of going with a well-established distributor like Steam or GOG. Did Beamdog give them a sweetheart deal or something?

I thought it's because the devs of BG:EE also developed Beamdog?

All I know is their web installer is very broken. Downloads die and you end up having to tweak the thing to get it to download. Would not suggest going that route if there are other options.
