over 4 cents a round is not a deal even with the worthless ammo box.

Free shipping only works if you pay with cabelas visa. Good deal but only if you have the visa.

Cabelas now has a $20 off 150 coupon available. If you buy 2 of these, its $20 off, free store pickup, and you get two ammo cans.

That being said, this has been the price for these for months, and a lot of people aren't too fond of the plastic cans

The plastic ammo cans usually sell for $8-$10 separately, and they work pretty well. If you can use the ammo can then it's a decent deal, but only if you get the free shipping or $20 discount mentioned above.

Aren't the ammo boxes suppose to be "free"?

I'm pretty sure that walmart farks over their employees every day too. Don't shop there, EVER.

Can a can be Plastic? Don't they say the "cans" are "free". 22LR has to be under $.04 a round to be considered a SD.

Are you asking me if you can call something a can even if it's not made of metal? I was referring to it as an "ammo can". A canister to hold your ammo.

I don't know where you've seen it written that .22lr has to be under $.04 to be considered a slick deal. I'm not saying this is a SD, but I would gladly pay $.05 for mini mags.

This is just my opinion, but cans have to be metal. Containers can be metal or other materials.

For me, bulk ammo has to be under $.04 a round to be a SD. Of course, specialized ammo will cost more, but this deal is about Federal bulk ammo, so my benchmark stands.

There, now it has been written. <---- pale attempt at humor

This appears to be a larger, perhaps sturdier box compared to the previous box that sold for about $10.

Still, not slick enough for me to add to the couple thousand rounds I already have and Cabela's is 35 miles away...cutting down on the potential for a 'drive-by' impulse purchase.Embarrassment

Sheesh! Nobody's gonna give the newbie a hard time for calling a round of ammo a 'bullet'? You guys are gettin' SOFT ! Stick Out Tongue
In ammo circles, a 'bullet' is supposed to refer to the projectile that leaves the round when fired. If you purchased 22lr bullets for 4 cents each, you would be in some rarefied air.!

Just thought I would mention it before the whole "a magazine is not a clip" crowd pounced.Cool

Carry on.

Thanks for the post OP - I jumped on it

With the nearest cabelas 3 hours away I could not get in on the 2100 + metal can for 75$. I even called and tried to get it twice over the phone - noGo

I missed the other federal .22 deal

Both walmarts near my house have been out of .22 rounds for weeks now

I used the 20 off 150 and I signed up for the credit card for another -25 bucks making it a pretty good deal for me

I was hoping the free shipping using the cabelas visa and CLUBVISA would stack with the 20 off 150 but it did not, for any others that might care.
