As said earlier do not send your kid to an organized airsoft game with one of these. They probably lack a hop up unit and many other important features that would be required to actually do something of use. That being said, I have seen kids with pump crossman shotguns from walmart still having fun even though they are never going to hit anyone with them.

Make sure eye protection is worn at all times and PLEASE make sure your kids are safe with these, bringing these out in public could ruin airsoft for all of us. If your looking for a real airsoft gun (shoots 150+ ft) here is a quick recommendation.

(G&G's are what most fields use as rental guns and I have seen many that have never needed repairs even after being abused as a rental gun.)

That being said, I have spent thousands on airsoft and it will be a long road. It's not a cheap sport if you really get into it. Buying tactical gear, repairs, upgrades can add up VERY quickly.

Airsoft are plastic, safe to shoot indoors. BB guns are the metal ones. Those can be dangerous, extreme caution are necessary. Some places are illegal to carry.

There is the potential for all kinds of destruction, vertical blinds will get holes on them, paint dings, and assorted mayhem. I speak from experience. Maybe the spring ones are less powerful but AEGs will cause damage indoors.

my 15 year old has been begging me all year for one of these....we have said no, never, not gonna happen. He has 4 younger siblings and it scares me.....how dangerous are these things and is this really a good idea for a 15 year old?
