Four batteries total?
See review below; This kit included a DCF 610 screwdriver and a DCD 980 drill. Both are good tools and operate very well. The drill is a 20 volt Lithium-ion powered tool and the screwdriver is a 12 volt Lithium-ion powered tool. There are two batteries for each tool and a charger for both. It would have been great if a hard plastic case would have been included. Both tools work very well. The batteries last a long time on one charge. Tool hooks for both tools would help unfortunately, none were provided. All this aside, the tools are a good buy. |

I have the Dewalt 20v tools. All of them. Buy them and never think twice about it. They are extremely powerful and worth every penny. Love, love, love them. Wish I had bought dewalt sooner. I had a craftsman 19.2v kit prior to the dewalt. Doesn't even come close to the dewalt.
I have to admit though, a ridgid set did give me pause. A lifetime warranty including batteries seems pretty sweet. My brother in law just bought a 18v Ridgid 5 tool combo. He uses them for work everyday. It will be interesting to see how easy the warranty is and how well they hold up. |

Tempted to jump on this. I have a concrete basement floor that I need to drill some taps into so I might pass since the DC985 hammer drill/driver combo would work better for me.
Looking to pick this up: Model # DCK590L2 http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-2...LagaqxlEap |

Hope I can shed some light for others that asked questions while I was working: - This comes with two of the 3.0 ah 20v batteries. They are the best of the Dewalt 20v series and supposed to be equivelant to the 18v XRP reputation. This is roughly twice the run time of the 1.5 ah compact versions. They are, like the XRP, worth the extra money. - The Dewalt 20v batteries are not much different than every other company...they use the max voltage to get to 20v but essentially could have been called the 18v Lithium Ion but Dewalt gets to sell new tools because it is a new connection. So they kind of win just like some others have done. - I really like this deal because you can get into the 20v line with the 'best' batteries for cheap and get a 12v tool at no extra charge. - Again folks, the drill/driver kit goes for $259.00 on Amazon. - I think Dewalt has been more reliable for me than Ridgid...but that is not to say a DIY wouldn't be happy with Ridgid. Nothing against them. I think this is a better value... - I am 99% sure this comes with 1 12v battery. I have seen this kit before at the stores. But, I hope I'm wrong! And, maybe the reviewer made a mistake or was very lucky. Again, that is just gravy for the 12v so I figure it is what it is and nice to have.- Impact Drive: Folks, if you have never purchased one...get one. Next best thing (Drill/Driver for drilling and variable precision driving but impact driver for almost everything else!). If you are not a pro...you don't have to get the Brushless version. But you can pick up the Dewalt 20v Impact Driver Tool only for around $99 or $109 and it is a bargain because you know have the batteries and can go to town building a 100x100 deck for your significant other in two or three hours ![]() (I joke...four hours, at least) lol - This drill/driver is the better design with metal components and heavy duty. - Only thing missing is hammerdrill function. For those that don't know, it is most used for applications with concrete involved. - Dewalt makes a pretty slick circular saw and reciprocating saw so you can now save money by looking for bare tools from all the online places, including ebay and build a nice kit for cheap money. - Again, two 3.0 ah batteries are $129.00 on Amazon which is a great price...your getting a heck of a lot more with this deal. Hope this heps. Let me know if you need any help...but I would take this over Ryobi. I haven't had luck with their batteries lasting any length of time and not nearly the power needed to get hard jobs done. Ridgid...works well but I just like Dewalt better. I don't work for Dewalt or Home Depot

Perhaps for your particular needs, but I think others may find it a very good value. Not everyone will need Hammer function for concrete... Plus, as much as I love my impact drivers...often I need precision control and a drill driver is required for that... |

there are so many variations of dewalt tools... 18v, 20v, 1.5Ah, 3.0Ah....
are the 1.5Ah and 3.0Ah batteries interchangeable in dewalt tools? would the batteries in this kit work with this guy? http://www.amazon.com/DEWALT-DCF8...act+driver |
