Best deal I have found as HomeDepot.com has $25.00 off $100.00 and free shipping on the DEWALT 20-Volt Max Lithium Ion Premium Drill Driver / 12-Volt Max Screwdriver 2-Tool Combo Kit DCK295L3

Link [homedepot.com]

I didn't need Hammer function and this is the better quality drill/driver and comes with TWO of the 3.0 ah 20v Batteries. The DCD980 Drill/Driver Kit goes for $259.00 alone on Amazon...so for $174.00 you get that plus the 12v screwdriver with battery as a bonus!

Price: $199.00 - $25.00 = $174.00 and Free Shipping (tax additional)

This code reported as Expired: (Used code "CMHD2012" for $5 of $50 purchase to bring total down to $169.00 - Thanks to Pctek4456!)

This comes with:
20V MAX DCD980 premium drill/driver
(2) 20V MAX 3.0 Ah batteries
12V MAX DCF610 Screwdriver
(1) 12V MAX battery
12V/20V fast charger
bit tip
belt hook
contractor bag.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
The DCK295L3 is a unique kit featuring a 20V MAX Lithium Ion Drill/Driver and 12V MAX Screwdriver Combo. Both tools are part of DEWALT's MAX platform using the same DCB101 12V/20V Charger. The MAX systems are a great compliment to one another - the 12V MAX can be carried via the belt hook throughout the day to provide a perfect lightweight solution for the smaller fastening applications while the 20V MAX provides the power, torque and speed to complete the all of the heavy-duty applications. The DCK295L3 includes: 20V MAX DCD980 premium drill/driver, 12V MAX DCF610 Screwdriver, (2) 20V MAX 3.0 Ah batteries, (1) 12V MAX battery, 12V/20V fast charger, bit tip, belt hook and contractor bag.

DCD980 20V MAX drill/driver with patented 3-speed all-metal transmission and 1/2 in. self-tightening chuck delivers 535 units watts out of maximum performance, faster application speed, and superior bit retention
LED light with 20 second delay after trigger release
DCF610 12V MAX screwdriver features 1/4 in. one hand loading hex chuck
Compact, lightweight design fits into tight areas
Other batteries and chargers sold separately, this kit works with these batteries (DCB200, DCB201, DCB120) and chargers (DCB101, DCB119, DCB100)

This is mega slick. Wanted a yellow driver since using my neighbor's 14.4v DeWalt to build a fence!

Rep OP!!
Nice, but your Discover CB will less than that.

I'd prefer something cordless, I wouldnt even mind having one in the charger at all times. I just keep hearing all these 'studies'/''myths'/'opinions' that li-ion sucks for this kind of equipment (regarding shelf lives, etc)... but I'm digging the 20V/12V combo.

Is this the direction dewalt is going in? I dont want to have to upgrade to li-ion in 2 years, you know?
You will love this kit. The little screwdriver is great for most things. Plenty powerful and light. I prefer the lithiums for home use because when you need it, it will have a charge, even if you haven't touched it in months.

These kits got closed out in stores this summer. I got one for $74 I think it was. Amazing deal even at $170ish it is a good deal. Think of it as getting the 12 volt free and I rarely have a need for a second battery for the 12v around the house.

Damn you guys. I have like $1000 worth of Ryobi tools (of course I paid less than half that), but i just ordered this. Looks like I'm upgrading. I really want their impact wrench, lol. Those are expensive.

Any help on how the one in this thread compares to this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/...04_s00_i02 would be greatly appreciated. I bought my husband the one on Amazon for Christmas, but if the on in this thread is better, I may send it back. TIA!

To add, he doesn't use drills all that often, couple times a year...
The one in this thread is far better but the drill that you ordered is good enough for most peoples needs. It all depends on what you plan on using it for. For around the house, its enough.

The $99 one on Amazon is more than plenty good enough for what you describe your husband does.
No need to spend another $70 on overkill.

Thank you, I bought one. I needed a better drill and have an old DeWalt with no battery so this will work nicely. nod

thanks, would rep if you had it enabled. Somebody posted a review from hd.com and a reviewer said they got two batteries for each tool so four total.

but, the description says 1 12v battery so I didn't see how that was possible.

Okay, thanks guys...was just about to pull the trigger but you are probably right...the Amazon one is enough! He just finished our basement and I don't see any big projects in the near future, so I will stick with the Amazon one!

What is the problem with the 20v Ryobi impact being heavier than the 12v. Like someone uses the impact driver for longer than they use the drill. You never hear anyone saying how heavy the drill is. I bought the $99 Ryobi lithium kit at HD. Hands down a better buy! Sorry if I am tread crapping but I am only responding to an earlier post on this thread.
