A Kids 5 is like a Womens 7, a baby 5 would be like for a 1 yr old or so. I used to hate baby/toddler/kids sizing till I got used to it Smilie

. I still dont fully know the difference between a 4T and a 4 when it comes to little kids clothes...

For bottoms, 2T is good with diaper,2 is good for trained kids

I don't believe that they can be returned to stores, but I took the chance and bought my 17 month old shoes in sizes 6, 7, and 8 (he's currently a 6). If we don't like them, then we will just return the 7 and 8. The total was about $33 (for the Stride Rite Spencer). Three pairs of these shoes for $33 - much appreciated and repped.
