This deal got destroyed the last few days. Stores limiting to 1 coupon per customer, limiting on number of cards you could buy, limiting on told spend in the transaction, locking out certain payment types.
I hand a girl 1800 worth of cards and ten seconds later a pinata explodes and cards are laying everywhere. I created delays of up to 30 minutes for people when they got in line behind me about 30-40% of the time. EOM |

I was thinking about price matching to bestbuy but didnt lol
They wouldn't even let me get 10% off the amazon kindle cards from the toys r us ad. Maybe I should have tried another store. Would have been sweet stacking best buy GC bought from HEB then getting another discount on amazon from bestbuy. Taking a Vacation from SlickDeals

So I didn't do this, but couldn't you simply buy the home improvement gift cards, then buy visa gift cards at sears or somewhere (someone on that list is bound to have them), then in turn buy more home improvement gift cards with those, etc etc, making 17% every run, say a seed money of $2000, you would have almost $4400 after doing it 5 times, presuming you could find enough variable home improvement gift cards..

Each time, the process has been pretty straightforward: give cashier the Shell card, s/he rings it up and activates it, I swipe my card, s/he asks for last four digits of my card number, I tell the cashier the last four digits, and then I sign. Done! If you're getting asked for ID, then perhaps it's because the value of your transaction is too large. I was not asked for ID any time. The first transaction was for $100 (4 x $25 Shell GCs) and the second was for $50 (1 x $50 Shell GC). Maybe if I were charging a purchase of $300 in GCs I might expect to be asked for ID, but I intend to keep future transaction relatively small so that I continue to fly under the radar. |
