Agree Disappointing...both online and B&M
The best deals I scored this season were the $10 1600 point xbox cards at target (advertised, retracted, and not marked in store, but rang up cheap!), and the 50 off 100 pre-black friday Home Depot deal... The stores were quiet...and most had most doorbuster items available well into the weekend...not like past years where things were flying everywhere and everything advertised was GONE within an hour or two at most retailers... There was no "thrill of the hunt" or crash and burn after being up all night shopping... Mostly it was continuing to refresh the amazon lighting deals which changed every 20 minutes....at least I got a free 30 day amazon prime account...but even that only shaved 1 day off the expected deliver date of the things I ordered...(prime was only 1 day faster than "super saver"!--what's up with that?) Beyond this, the deals just didn't feel that great... |

Disagree - but i guess it depends what you were shopping for. I got steals on clothing at the mall - including 50% on outwear from Land's end which i think was the best deal of the day, got all the video game and DVD deals online that matched the stores prices (Plus free shipping thanks to either shop runner, store card or code). Also got some christmas decor, candles, etc for close to nothing. Pretty much finished all my holiday shopping and still have not seen any better deals out there.

Yeah ssd were pretty much a bust. I made the right choice and waited up on the $60 hyperx ssd from newegg. I ordered it as backup in case Frys didn't put any on sale, and sure enough they had none on sale. I originally hoped there were going to be FAR or $30 128gb ssd. I guess I'm happy I gave out towards the beginning of the month and bought some Samsung 830, but not as many as I needed. I would much rather have another 830 at $70 than a hyperx at $60. Guess it sucked worse for the people saying the 830 was going to be 50-60 on BF.

BF and CM weren't that great, but Thanksgiving day itself was where it was at.
Hopefully all the people who were giving bad advice on waiting for a "super" deal on a Samsung 830 weren't heeded. Received my 256GB today, actually--purchased Thanksgiving day ![]() Only deal I missed was ACIII for $25 at the Microsoft Store (and a PS3 version elsewhere for $30 or $35). Still looking for a plasma, too... |
