Those look expensive for such little things. Two main ones to consider are DB2 and DB4 clones, though other kinds can work too and might even be better depending on what signals are in your area.
You'll of course want to go to tvfool.com or antennaweb.org and see what frequencies you can get and how far away they are.
Also, if you get an "outdoor" one, no one says you have to actually put it on your roof. Stick it in the attic or maybe in a closet or in a false ceiling or something. DB4-type antennas are pretty flat, so they're not too hard to hide.
Indoor antennas lose signal strength, especially if you have thick or metal walls, but, in general, bigger is better.

to be clear, like Sawg said, cheapo rabbit ears can often work just fine if you're within x miles from the signals. (20 miles is probably about the limit with flat ground and few buildings, but ymmv.) I've hooked up rabbit ears that look like they're from 1970. No problem if close enough to the signals.
