If you figure out how to apply a paper coupon to an Amazon order, please let us know.
I sent an inquiry to Amazon CS. No harm in trying. Also while i was in there i remembered not getting the box slip for a past order of the incredibles bluray. Asked them if they could still send it to me (ordered 1/2012). They gave me a 20% partial refund!! Amazon CS is top notch. If i hear from them about the DMR coupon i'll post back here..
Glad I got the $20 deal from DeepDiscount a while back. They e-mailed me yesterday and said it's on the way!
Nice! Thanks for reminding me. Didn't see the e-mail yesterday but looks like mine is on the way as well. They did the same early shipment alert w/ Avengers 3D but it didn't arrive until the release date, so I wouldn't expect it to come early.
Even got it for $17.99 using the 10% referral link on their site. So far, I have had no issues with Deepdiscount.
So if ToysRus is B1 G1 40% off, theoretically you could buy 2 and do this scenario:
Buy 1 @ $28
Buy 1 @ $16.80
Use 2 x $5 off DMR coupons
Use $20 Groupon (basically getting $10 off, if you bought it a few days ago)
Total price: $28 + $16.80 - $5 - $5 - $10 = $24.80 for 2 or $12.40 each!
$12.40 each isn't too bad, especially if you have someone to gift they extra one to, or wait a few months and sell the extra to make your money back.
it's not marketing, it's price fixing collusion. they charge $30 for a one disc set and $30 for a 5 disc set. it doesn't cost them any more to burn a $8 bluray then it does for a 3D bluray. price fixing.
It is not really pricing collusion as there is only one company who has the right to produce these blu rays. Price fixing is when multiple competing companies get together and agree not to lower there prices in order to keep prices high.
I am not convinced that, if they just sold the blu ray disc without the dvd, the price would be any lower. Look at The Campaign on amazon, Blu Ray only 19.96, Blu Ray/DVD 14.99. I think they basically throw in the other discs so that customers are not angry that the blu ray they purchased cannot be played on the regular blu ray player they have in the car/summer home/friends house. Each additional disc cost them close to nothing.
The costs to transfer a move to HD are likely higher than putting the movie on DVD. Therefore, the Blu Ray disc will cost the consumer a little more. There is not much price difference between a stand alone disney dvd and a blu ray/dvd combo (Dumbo DVD 19.96, Blu/dvd Combo 26.93). Would you be happier if it was Dumbo DVD 19.96 and solo Blu Ray 26.93? They won;t both be priced the same due to production costs.
Anyone kmow if Amazon woukd accept this? They have an $8 coupon before for preorders bringing tge price down to $23. With this coupon it'll be slikcker at $18!
Rarely since that was the impetus to start giving those $8 coupons upfront. I won't say there haven;t been a few CSR who wouldn't spot you an extra $5 if you talk/chat, but that hasn't happened on a widespread scale.
Good news is that Amazon is likely to match the TRU and Target price of $27.99 by at least Tuesday so with your $8 discount your final price may be 19.99 (equal to those that preordered at Deep Discount).
Quote from LinkinPrime :
Since there doesn't seem to be a coupon for UP.
Finding Nemo 3D + Up 3D at Toys R Us seems like a good deal AC.
Toys R Us does carry 3D Blu-Ray's....right?
A few 3D but not a wide selection. I know I bought Brave and Secret of the Wings 3D there and I'm pretty sure I saw Avengers 3D. Many folks have mentioned not
finding Paranorman 3D and only the regular BD,
