I just got back from the El Monte (So Cal) Sams Club. Seems they had it 'in stock' on their computers, but they couldn't find it. Waited 2 hours, till they finally figured that they were still on the pallets in the middle of the store up high. Mine came to $877 what with taxes and that pesky CA $10 electronics recycle fee.

My story:
1. Looking to upgrade an LG 50" 1080p plasma 2. Bought an LG LED 55LS4500 right before Black Friday for $698. 3. Hooked it up and though the picture was good, the black levels and fast motion were horrible 4. Couldn't ship LG LED back to Fry's, so immediately sold it on CL for what I bought it for 5. Bought the Panny 60u54 from Sam's tonight for $798 HOLY COW!!!!! This thing is amazing!!! Don't hesitate to buy this! Random Favorite Deals:

I work at SC. This TV came in stock about a week ago and there is no indication that this is anything other than regular price. It is 50 dollars cheaper than the 60" Samsung 1080p plasma set that we sell. With that said, looks to be a very good TV and with a cheap wifi blu-ray player or a roku player, you will effectively have a smart TV.
It ain't what you do, it's the way that you do it.

Not going to wait for this Plasma to come back in stock on the EPP site especially if it's $765 and you have to wait for it to be shipped.
Picked one up this evening from my local Sam's Club (93004, they had at least 3 more) for the $798 price. Already had a Monoprice wall mount and just finished the install. Awesome TV, so pleased! Incidentally, the manufacture date is 11-12 so they're selling these as fast as they can make them. Now to Craigslist my trusty Vizio V042L 42" LCD........ What's a good price with wall mount included? Last edited by jsco; 12-01-2012 at 10:33 PM.. |

Is slickdeals not the best site to find TV deals? Is there a better site? Thanks
I think I am interested in the P55UT50 myself, but can't seem to find the best site to monitor its price and its current and future deals. FYI, I can never find better prices on Tires than what Sam's Club sells them for. I feel basically you can get a better quality tire at Sam's Club for a lesser price than most places. "I own every version ever released of every Star Wars movie. I also own numerous light sabers. I also know how to use the force and have flown several X-Wings both recreationally and in combat situations. All I can say is that Ewoks shouldn't be blinking. I was there to experience whatever battle that was and I can say for a fact that they do not blink. Darth Vader doesn't scream like that at all and trying to add that in is rewriting an important piece of my life's history...-dudemind

I haven't mounted my set yet since the mount is coming this monday. Have it on the stand for testing and the picture quality is so good. I plugged in my camcorders SD card on the side and quality of the vids are excellent. Haven't tested sports on it yet, but will soon.
it does have a usb plug that plays vids, but note that it only likes mp4 files and doesn't not like avi. You'll also have to do some quirky things with an external hdd in order for it to work as well. Just a heads up if this is what's selling you on this tv. |
