I haven't looked since this summer at apps, but I think we paid $7.50-$10 each for our apps. There were some utra-ebooks (or something like that) that were more expensive. You can download one of the games that they sell cartridges for for around $20. It's nice to have them downloaded so you don't ever lose them. Those little cartridges are easy to misplace. The case is a great addition because it has slots for up to 6 game cartridges.

COOL! I just put in order for the regular LeapPad2 that was back ordered. Luckily I decided to take a quick look on slickdeals. Not only will my nephews get it in 3 days, they also get a $20 app card and a carrying case for the same price as the LeapPad2 by itself!

My 4 year old prefers to play with my ipad than her leappad. The advantages are that it is kid friendly and ours has been dropped, kicked, etc...and still is fine. I like that the games are educational and age appropriate. We took a 2000K mile road trip this summer and the leappad kept her productive and busy for a long time. Couldn't have imagined the trip without it. Her interest in it has totally waned, though, since the ipad arrived this fall. I think the graphics and (finger) touch screen is much more appealing to her.
