The $400 paid over time on the value plan seems crazy. Buying T-Mobile prepaid phones is cheaper or a nexus 4 from Google.

just found out that i can't switch plan easily to classic plan to get discounted phone as i was a value plan customer (been out of contract for a year). well, i closed my t-mo account then. paying EIP is so stupid.

You are basically taking a 0% financing deal to pay the retail price of the phone. That isn't a bad deal at all. I don't know what you mean by "T-mobile prepaid phones" are cheaper, OF COURSE a cheap-ass prepaid phone is going to be cheaper than a Note 2 or S3??? If you mean to buy it out-right from T-mobile, that isn't even true either as financing it over 20 months costs the same exact price. |

For example, buying the Blaze from the prepaid side of the tmobile website is $299 with $50 card. Last week it came with a $100 card.
This is less than even if you paid $0 down and then $400 over 20 months. Or am I misunderstanding how the payment over time works? |

what you could do is claim that you "lost" the s3, and buy a phone at a non discounted price. this is typically a basic phone valued at around 50 bucks. this will get you out of the data plan. |

Ya, straight from Google. When I ordered it, it said 6 to 7 weeks so I was floored when I got a tracking number the next morning. I got the 16gb model. |

About this topic, T-Mobile is kind of stupid, sad to say (and this is coming from someone who has been with them for over 10 years). They keep throwing these stupid promotions out and making them in-store only, and when I go to store they have NO CLUE. I told them I just want to get a new phone and trade my old blackberry, she could not even tell me which plan was required, she said "you have to get unlimited" I told her, hey if I am paying full price for the phone, why should I get unlimited? She is like "you can just cancel after you get the rebate" Honestly, either they are stupid, or T-Mobile did not give them detailed information, or they play stupid. So my wife has Get More plan from 2000's, paying only $30 for 500 mins and Mobile to Mobile and N+W, nationwide. I just wanted to trade the BB Curve. Does anyone have the exact details on how to take the most advantage of this plan with least amount out of pocket? I just want to get $120 for our old BB Curve. |
