Ehhh...interesting deal, but the monitors are only worth more than $100 a piece and I'm not convinced the PC is worth $350.

I don't think they are even worth $100.

Maybe $100 if you pay full price, but you can get such monitors for much less than $100 on SD all the time. (They are only 1600x900, but then again they are small 20".)

Just don't see much of a deal here.

Anyone could easily build something better for $550 with discrete graphics including two 22'' monitors.

Prove it.

With rebates and waiting for deals maybe, and just barely. By then your return policies would expire while you waited to piece together the deals. It would take you months to round up the deals.

Monitors at $90 each. Computer? CPU ($120) + HDD ($60) + PSU ($15) + MOBO ($60) + RAM ($15) + ODD ($15) + Small Form Factor Case ($50) + Windows 7 Professional ($120) = $455. That's my napkin math anyways.

I think it's a more than fair price. Sure, it's not great deal if you (1) already have a legitimate copy of Win 7 Pro OS and other components, (2) don't care about having a mid-tower versus SFF, (3) don't mind waiting for FAR deals, (4) don't mind the rebate turnaround, (5) have a local Microcenter or Fry's, (6) don't mind building the system yourself. I don't think you're the target audience though.

Hardly a deal

You guys do have to remember, this computer is targeted towards businesses as a cubical computer for an office monkey or an intern. A business is not going to sit around and wait for deals to build a computer for their employee's.

And I'm with g725s... you will have a very tough time to build your own system with the same or similar parts for $550, even if you could find good deals on parts; not impossible though. Win 7 pro really cuts into your budget too much for a low cost build, specially with two monitors. Here's a list of some sale prices that I've seen in the past few months for the parts.

i3 3225 & Gigabyte mobo: $120 (+tax, microcenter deal)
500GB HDD: $50
PSU: $17 (430w corsair)
RAM: $15
Optical: $15
Case: $25
Win 7 Pro: $137

Total: $379

That leaves you with about $170 for the monitors; Find some Acer or Asus 20-22" for $80 each and your set. If you were a student and were able to get the OS for $35 last year, that saves you a lot of money. But again, separate sales over the course of months and you really have to be looking. OEM pre-builts just have you beat at this price point for the most part. Add a $100 to the budget and you can really build a better system.

Honestly, I'd probably go with an AMD budget box over the i3 to save on money and to make it worth your wild. Then building a $550 rig with two monitors is far more obtainable.
