Sodastream Machine / Kit ~ Approx. $20 - 24 (or Less) ~ AR x 2, AC ~ Staples B&M

Just bought one by stacking a $20 BR and a $10 off 75 app coupon (net $10 AC AR). Had a filler in my order just to be safe.

I had a cool cashier who also let me try stacking the expired 20% and this week's 10% coupon but these did not stack. The 20% doesn't play nice with other coupons so the order you present the coupons might make a difference. YMMV as always when stacking coupons.

Saturday night at store closing time, I stacked a 20% off and a 10% off with no problems (5 items though).

Yes it make no since to buy one of these when if you figure out the cost of the syrup the fizz stuff it is higher than paying $2.50 for a 12 pack of canned drinks. Even higher if you buy the boss drinks for $1.00 or less. CVS has boss drinks this week for $0.88.

You do the math $4.95 for the syrup for 33 drinks as advertised is $0.15 now figure the cost of the Fizz makes it over $0.20 per can. $2.50 for a 12 pack of coke or pepsi works out to $0.21 per can. and you still have not included the cost of the machine.

bottom line is the syrup cost to much.

I have a 50% off breakroom coupon from the Staples app. Nobody has mentioned using one to make it essentially $0 with tax. Is it not possible to use that coupon?

Add it to a cart online. Should say it is expired. Staples supposedly expired these coupons a long time ago due to abuse in their mind on these and Keurig machines. Give it a shot. You never know these days even if it shows expired online. Stranger things have happened with expired coupons.

Your math is off.
The Sodastream makes 1 liter (33 ounces) bottles.
Not 12 ounce cans.

SS isn't even really pushing the cost angle as they realize they're barely competitive for average consumers... they're pushing the green angle and not having to lug heavy bottles/cans of soda home from the store.

Without proper slickdealing/coupon use the SS syrup is, of course, over priced. But it's not like that's your only option. This is just a simple tool that allows you to easily carbonate flat water. If you want soda you can then pour in syrup, but who says you have to use SS's overpriced syrups? If you're willing to buy in a higher volume you can easily get a foodservice box/bag of syrup meant for the machines and use that syrup or get creative and find some other interesting liquid syrups and make some truly unique carbonated beverages. It can make sense even to a slickdealer especially when you can coupon/rebate it down to say $20 or less. I got my first SS Jet months ago FARs/coupons including the $20 SS/recyclebank rebate, so I probably wouldn't be able to do that rebate again now. BTW, as others have reported, no problems with the SS/Recyclebank rebate despite the rebate wording... and it arrived quickly!

Are you folks just going to recite the 16-digit code to the cashier. Or is there some other trick to make this look like a physical coupon that can be handed to the cashier?

Of course you could. You'd have to check the ratio on the packaging or just experiment, but syrup is syrup.

ETA: I suspect the SS syrup and the Coke syrup are at a similar concentration, but just conjecture.
