i believe you can call AT&T and inform them you want to get back on your grandfathered data plan. i think i have seen it done here on slick deals before.

Not really.
The WP threads usually come with clued bashers that have owned this operating system (that can't do squat). It's kinda like comparing a two-way pager, to a cell phone. Sure you can still do SOME stuff with a pager, but there is NO comparison between the two

I got the white one, and there's nothing cheap or preppy about it . Since the phone seems to be limited either due to demand or low quantity (who the hell knows?) you may just have to take whatever color you can get.

That said, this is my first WP8 phone (duh) but my third Windows Phone since they adopted the new UI, and I'm VERY happy I switched away from iPhone. The modern UI is all kinds of brilliant, and I'm happy to see it proliferating across PC, Xbox, Phone and MS's assorted web properties as well. SkyDrive is the mother frickin' bomb (still have my free 25GB account).

I also just found out yesterday that my mother and both sisters upgraded to the Lumia 920, and a friend of mine came over to show off her new HTC 8X (which is also very nice).

Wait, do I get correctly that you're claiming Windows Phone 8 is comparable to a *pager*?

And no, you won't lose your grandfathered unlimited plan, I just upgraded 2 lines to the 920, still unlimited.

tell a pager to embed a free fully fledged GPS that allows you to download maps for use offline, and can alert you if you are driving over speed limit of the road you are driving on.

Question - Is there anyway to keep my existing Data/Messaging plan if I do this? I'm currently doing the 2GB/200 Messages and don't really need anything more than that.

Yes you can, I have twice upgraded my device on ATT and I still have my same messaging and data plan. Just ensure you do not activate your device on the automated process and call the customer support to activate it.

Yes you can keep your grand fathered data plan. I have the unlimited data plan and i confirmed with the CSR before I upgraded. They just said make sure you activate by calling the support and not through automated process.
