anyone else have trouble using the egift cards at CVS?
I posted this on their facebook wall. "How long and how many people does it take to use an egift card purchased through the CVS website at CVS? Apparently it takes six days and four people… a store manager, a district manager, a regional manager, and a cashier. CVS should be embarrassed of itself. Managers that have been with the company for years and should be able to recognize what the egift cards look like. After my gift cards were initially refused, I called CVS corporate. I ended up meeting with the CVS regional manager and the CVS district manager. I was not happy with the way they handled the situation, because they were also fixated on where I got the gift cards from when that shouldn’t even matter. Once I told them that the gift cards came from the CVS website they started checking the balance on each one. Since when is it policy to ask where you got a gift card from? And since when is it policy to check the amount on each gift card online before being allowed to use it? Once again, I feel like I was singled out here. Tom Potter the store manager lied to the district and regional manager trying to defend himself. He told them that he did try and scan the gift card and it came up as invalid and this is a flat out lie. He did not attempt to scan anything. I told the regional and district manager that I wanted an apology from Tom Potter, which is not too much to ask for. The district manager said they would need to talk to Tom Potter first and that he would be disciplined but unfortunately due to labor laws they could not share with me what that discipline would be." |

No problems here -- sometimes the system shows an error when they try to scan the barcode, but I simply tell them to hit "gift card" on their screen first and then scan the barcode
Most of the cashiers at the 2 stores near me alrdy know how to use them since I'm there once a week -- if I'm at another CVS and the cashier looks confused then I'll tell them how to use it and they have no problems with it I also write the remaining balance on the printout every time I use it -- couple of the cashiers at the stores near me have started to automatically write the new balance on the printout for me lol |

Well the problem I had was that the store manager did not recognize what they were and did not want to hear me out. He refused to let the cashiers scan more than one. I had to call corporate and get more people involved.
Maybe.. just maybe... it had something to do with the fact that I was trying to use 40 gift cards at one time to purchase 800 dollars worth of vodka. Last edited by handsome323; 02-06-2013 at 12:12 PM.. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

sounds slick but it makes it more suspicious though. |
