Did you know the new CEO of Cravebox was once the CEO of House Party? She's the one probably smiling all they way to the bank.

ETA - In the Thanksgivings pgk things were left out Yes, they emailed us to let us know of the 'mistake' but why not still mail out the coupons for the free items? That didn't sit too well with me. I think I may just stick with Birchbox & TestTube. Last edited by kel_be; 12-06-2012 at 07:33 PM.. Do you have a question? I just got into Goodies last month and also ordered a couple of items from that box when they had free shipping durng CyberMonday. I can honestly say that I had never even seen some of the items in the stores and certainly never sampled anything that was in the November Goodies box. Now that is a product discovery service. I did have canned green beans from Del Monte before and right now I am stocking 10+ bottles of Torani syrup at home, only one of which I bought in the store (on clearance + coupon). So the product discovery angle from Cravebox has been extremely disappointing. I am going to try the Goodies program. The price of $7.00 seems more reasonable. The cravebox program seemed to start out being very popular. Maybe CB got a little full of themselves, thinking that people would be happy spending even more than 10.00 shipping and handling to receive a box. Their math is off, when they say that the value of the items are very much higher than the shipping cost. For the spruce up box, the value of the actual products are very much LOWER than the cost we are charged.

I am happy with goodies - they only send samples, so maybe one lipton tea bag of a seasonal flavor, but everything was new to me or likely not commonly available in stores. They included a nice grocery tote in the last box, so I have not seen a box that only includes food items for the $7 subscription price. I felt that the tote bag alone was worth the price for the last box and liked two items included so much that I ordered them from their site because the price quoted on their site together with free shipping on CyberMonday was cheaper than from amazon.com. |
