So what exactly does this do that the Roku can't besides stream live tv? I don't subscribe to any cable tv or dish. I only use my roku to stream from my WHS2011 running Plex to my TV. The kids can stream plex from their iPads as well.

They definitely mixed up 350 and 500.. 350 is listed for $299.

In a nutshell it mirrors whatever your cable is seeing and displays it on any device you want wherever you are. Will also emulate your cables remote control so you can interact with your dvr or settop box just the same as if you were right in front if it. Advantage is you dont have to subscribe for a second set top box and you can watch your content anywhere and portability. Can also share your cable with someone else for blacked out games. Cable companies hate this thing.

Tried to order a 2nd with Disc but it wen OOS!

I have a Vulkano titanium (was lucky to get 1 the short time they sold them, free streaming app on any device, new ones you have to pay for the app) If you can find one of these they work great and you don't have to worry about bulging capacitors. You can also add a memory card for recording directly on the device, and then have it transfer to your ipad, android device over wifi so you can watch on the go without streaming.

does this work with any TV service, especially Comcast? And is there an iOS app for this to easily use on iPad?
