Update:
Buydig.com [buydig.com] has 2x 8GB Patriot SuperSonic Xpress USB 3.0 Flash Drive (PSF8GXPUSB) for $9.95 - 2 x $5 rebates [152.254] (mail in 2 of them)

Hello all, I've been looking for a pretty speedy 8gb USB 2.0 drive. I stumbled on this deal for a speedy USB 3.0 drive that also posts some good numbers for USB 2.0. It is one of those spring loaded ones too (if you like that).

$9.99-$5 patriot rebate + Free shipping (comes in a check or amex card) limit 2

I haven't had any issues with Patriot rebates, they seem to go pretty quickly.
Here are some of the numbers I've seen:
http://usbflashspeed.com/device/18615
Read speed: 63.75 MB/s
Write speed: 22.49 MB/s
(of course, it will also depend on your host machine speed)
Amazon has it for 10.99 (no rebate) 38 reviews, 4 stars:

This was the review that won me over:
I was stunned at how fast this drive is even with USB 2.0. Using Crystal DiskMark with a 100MB file, it hit 32 MB/sec Read and 20 MB/sec Write with USB 2.0. With USB 3.0 the numbers were 64 MB/sec Read and 24 MB/sec Write. So, although USB 3.0 doubled the Read speed, the Write speed was not much different and still very fast under USB 2.0.

I know he's benchmarking the 16gb, but it shouldn't be that far off for the 8gb (unless it was severely crippled).

, those are some eye popping numbers... so what do you think of the numbers this one supposedly puts up? Obviously not the fastest, but middle of the pack to middle high?
