Perfect gift for my mother who's always leaving the interior lights on and letting her cell go dead. Add the flashlight and price that's less than the weaker powered off brand models and its a slick deal. Thanks Op. Rep

They never gave me a receipt in the store when I pick up the unit. The kid behind the register, just looked at my email, went into the back and handed me the item. No signature, no receipt, no nothing! Any suggestions?
If you have never done an online rebate b4, one can make that mistake. Next time, ask for a duplicate and the original. Sometimes, you can do online and sometimes, it still says send something in. At this pt. Just make a copy of your online order confirmation page, obtain the rebate form and follow the instructions. Make copies then Mail it b4 the deadline.

can it be used for toyota Prius?

No, it states right on the box, never use this on a toyota prius
Are you freaking kidding me? You have got to be trolling.
1) I don't see anywhere in the manual or the box anything about the Prius.

2) There is no reason why you CAN'T jump start a Prius's 12v battery in the back. They both are 12 volts, in the Prius's case, the 12v system provides enough power to boot the computers - which then engages the high voltage relays on the traction battery system - which then powers the two electric motors and "starts" the internal combustion engine that way.
The 12v battery isn't jumping the engine, but is providing enough voltage to boot the computers in the Prius. The high voltage system (controlled by the computers) starts the engine. If the traction battery (the high voltage one) is dead, then nothing can start the engine. But the chances of the prius completely draining that battery is extremely slim because its programmed not to let you do so. The only way that I know of draining the traction battery is the direct result of forcing the car over and over to keep trying to start the engine WITHOUT gas in the tank. That or deliberately shorting out the high voltage battery or something stupid like that. Oh and also, when the battery graph is "empty" on the screen - it really isn't. It only display the battery between 40% and 80% (it avoids going below 40% and above 80% at all costs - this way it prolongs the traction battery's NiMH cells from deteriorating - resulting in the prolonging the life of the battery)

Source: I both OWN a Prius and I consider myself pretty damn informed about how it works - considering I do all the maintenance on it, frequent several prius forums and own two the service manuals.

i was wondering why shipping wasnt free. i checked their website and it clearly states that

"Coupons, core charges, shipping and handling charges, fees and taxes are not included in calculating eligibility for Free Shipping offer."

i get this to mean that since the item is already $79.99 before coupon then it should be eligible for free shipping.

https://shop.advanceautoparts.com...hipping___

I just placed my order and was charged $12.41 shipping. I called customer service (1-877-ADVANCE) and talked with a rep, explaining that the website offered free shipping over $75. The rep saw the $80 total and the $30 coupon, but said that the order should have qualified for free shipping despite the coupon bringing the total below $75. He updated my order to credit the shipping. Great deal! bounce

at least the phone guys know what is right. i spoke with their chat support and the people there insisted that coupons are included in computing free shipping eligibility even after i showed them their website policy.

No matter how hard i tried to explain they wouldnt budge and kept saying the website was wrong.

ill try giving them a call too. this is a deal that is too good to miss.

I got this Friday. Online purchase and pickup from local AAP. So far, not so good. The first unit had one LED in the light that was burnt. Not a big deal, but for something brand spanking new, I expect it to be fully operational. I exchanged for another just like it. New problem, different unit. This charger unit has 110v charger/power supply made in the case. So, no external power supply is needed. Good idea. Bad design. It has swing blade (2 prong conductor) charging plug on the back which requires an extension cord to be plugged into it. So, this requires you to push the female end of the extension cord onto the prongs. In my case, I ended pushing the prongs/blades into the the case. Now, useless. Like I said, good idea. Bad design. A 5 inch pigtail from the the unit would be so much better. Allowing you to hold both the male and female ends, when connecting. So, back to the store or another exchange. So far it is looking like there may be a charging issue next. But I wont know for sure for another 12 hours. Initial charge is said to take 36 hours. When the unit was first placed on charge mode, it indicated a 86% charge. 24 Hours later, the display indicates 81%. We'll see.

Very confusing issue with this one is that I cannot believe that it can charge from 75% to 100% in 5 Minutes(Happened with me). I have never seen a battery charges that fast. There must be something wrong or we are missing something.

I am having the same issue.. I plug it in.. it blinks at 76%.. i just left it plugged in overnight and still shows 76%.. reconnected and same thing happens. This connection on the back is bad I think.

Deal is still alive. Can't belive it. Got one when this first broke, just got another for the Pa-in-Law. For infrequent starts of a small boat, etc. hopefully it's not a total POS.

I bought this when the deal first broke, and attempted to stack an online rebate from e b a t e s. It was rejected:
Quote :
After researching your order, it has been determined that it was not credited to {e - b a t e s} due to the use of a non-{e - b a t e s} coupon/discount of $30.00. As a result, Cash Back cannot be awarded for this purchase. When using {e - b a t e s} it is important to only use the coupons/discounts listed on our site, as the use of any other coupon/discount will render your order ineligible to receive Cash Back.
Their exclusions policy includes some important hidden fine print:
Quote :
"If you choose to use coupons and specials that are not listed on {e - b a t e s}, we cannot guarantee that you will be eligible to receive an {e - b a t e s} cash back reward on your purchases."
These third party online rebate sites are simply not reliable. When you place your order, you cannot tell whether they will succeed.

I figured I had to mail stuff in but after filling it out it says to print form only for records and that my submission will be reviewed and updated once they mail the rebate card. Is it really this easy normally you have to jump through hoops, cutoff dates and mailing instructions so they can deny rebates.

If you didn't sign or get a receipt means they have nothing to say you got your item. Call or stop in the store and state that you never signed or were given a receipt, they can use just your ID if you don't have the printout. If they don't get your signature and give a receipt you can politely let them know that there is no record of the transaction if you were to dispute the charge with your credit card company. It's the reason they keep the signed receipt.

So how do you submit on-line if you've picked up 2 different units from 2 different locations? It asks for info based on one receipt.
Sadly you need to fill it out twice. They allow 2 rebate forms per household/address.

Thank you, that's exactly what happened. I dread going back into the store and dealing with the temporary teenage help to get a receipt. Repped!

After spending a week "In Process", my order has just been canceled, according to an e-mail I just received. Kind of annoying. I wonder if it's worthwhile calling to gripe and ask for a giftcard or something.
