I noted the original deal was out of stock and while looking around found this one.
It's $249.99 and only requires $60.00 in rebates. I'm only skeptical about the 3 core chip with only 3.1GHz speed.
The good news is that the bundle is about everything you would need except the HD, which are cheap and plentiful.
Any advice on this? What am I not seeing in the deal?

It's like going to a bar and you sit down and order a drink. You say "man these drinks are expensive! i can get it much cheaper at the store." There's always something cheaper if you look hard enough. In your case, you are saying this deal that you able to replicate over the past i dunno how many days/weeks -- or instead you can get most parts all at once right now.

Has anyone tried to assemble this yet? When properly assembled, the 4 pin P4 CPU power cable (sometimes called the 2x2 power lead?) is not long enough. I'm going to have to pick up an extension for this tomorrow and try again. Kind of sad. I wish tiger direct would send me one for free. I attached a picture of what I'm referring to. Note that I had to hang the PSU loose in the case just to get it reach for testing. Just for a visual reference to what I'm referring to: http://www.buy.com/prod/startech-...59829.html

Yes same here. The hd comes in today (from amazon)...so when it comes in we are going to place the PS on blocks until we can find an extention. This is silly, they put one "together" and don't see if it actually works....must have been drinking too much eggnog.

anyone knows what is the small black piece of plastic with the two plastic zip ties that came inside the case is for?

Also I noticed the case has no bell/speaker?? did I miss it?

Just called tech support. They said the PS reaches if it is properly installed. Calling back now for new person. Also the SATA powercable does not reach the 5.25 top drive.

EDIT: Just recalled....a very nice Enrique answered...he was more of sales guy....however, they are shipping me out the StarTech extention. Shipping Monday.

NEVERMIND .... I should have gone to end..LOL Wished TigerDirect would have actually put this system together once before selling it. The 12V power cable won't reach from the powersupply (bottom) to the top of the case where the plug is. Just a heads up for everyone who bought.
