Old post, but since no one else answered, maybe I can help a bit. You're probably not gonna notice any difference between 8GBs and 16GBs in Windows 7- unless you do video editing, where the extra RAM can be used to process video frames.
Also- on the Corsair Vengeance- you might want to consider the fact that the Vengeance series has those really high heatsink fins. These can get in the way if you want to mount an extra large heatsink/fan on your CPU - like the Hyper 212 EVO(GREAT cheap cooler btw). I would recommend checking out the Corsair Vengeance LP series(low profile). It's the exact same RAM, but the heatsink doesn't have the fins above the RAM.
