Bring the monitor60 and CS2 back for $100 a piece!

Can anyone offer insight on availability of the Monitor70's in cherry? NE's website has shown them out of stock/discontinued for some time now-- is that normal? If I recall correctly, these speakers have been technically discontinued by Polk for several years now anyway, so I don't know what to believe.

I know the logical thing to do is call NE and inquire, but their hold-time is >1hr today, hence hoping someone here can enlighten me.

Been hoping to get the CS2 paired up with the 70's I just bought. I happened to snag the CS1 for $60 when it went on sale. Does anyone have personal experience with the CS2 and is it a better fit for the 70's? - any advice would be appreciated.

I ordered both my Monitor 70s from open box and both of them came damaged. One of them had significant damage. I guess when the speaker has been returned once, the packaging isn't exactly right, so going from CA to VA it was inevitable.

They did offer me a partial refund/merchandise credit, so I ended up keeping both of them and using the credits towards a CS2 and M60s, but just a warning.

If you are a stickler, and want them to be perfect (such as having the grills off all the time), you probably should have purchased a pair at 150 each while they were on sale. The $15 difference is definitely not worth it when they are on sale. I purchased mine open box when the cheapest you could get was $180 each.

So if your open box one comes damaged, you won't have the option to exchange or spend extra for the new one unless it goes on sale again. Although they seem to go on sale every week for the past month.

The 70's get delivered tomorrow, so I am keeping my fingers crossed. I bought one more open box item last night. A Klipsch RW-12D. It was only $180.99, i couldn't pass it up.
