As of now the apple tv 3 isnt jailbreakable and never was, so you wont be able to install XBMC. So you will be only using apples proprietary software ie netflix, airplay.
If your looking for a boxtop XBMC player just get a android boxtop (but you won't get DTS audio) or a rasberry pi
If you want simplicity, go with PLEX instead of XBMC.

sorry what's apple tv?
i have HP WIRELESS TV CONNECTOR. i HOOK THE PC CONNECTOR TO MY LAPTOP AND THAN THE HDMI TO MY TV'S HDMI PORT< but recently i am unable to watch anything wirelessly. i tried again with my brand new HP TV WIRELESS CONNECTOR KIT but still no pics on tv. it says CHECK VIDEO SOURCE. i am sure the problem is not with my HP WIRELESS TV CONNECTOR because i tried with brand new one. you guys think the HDMI port on my tv has problem? thanks Last edited by Deal2go; 12-04-2012 at 09:01 AM.. |

Yeah, you're better off getting the 2nd gen. Love my jailbroken Apple 2 - Firecore says they are a long way off on breaking the ATV3 - and the ATV4 is coming out in early 2013, so the ATV3 may be a lost generation.

i had a jailbroken apple tv 2... just sold it for 80 bucks... never used it as the free cable and all the additional apps were barely in standard definition tv. only used netflix on it.. was not really worth it to me.
