It's passive 3d refresh rate really changes nothing for passive 3d. Also looking at a tv in the store is pretty much useless your house is anything like a store and plan on running the tv on torch mode.

and you know LG doesn't make a true 240hz panel?

they do a 120hz panel with a scanning backlight...they call it "simulated" 240hz

Samsung and Sony are the only manufacturers with a true 240hz panel

Hmmm, I recently bought the 42 inch LM5800 at Best Buy for $580. The only difference I see between the 5800 and 4600 models is that the 5800 has a higher dynamic contrast ratio and a lot more reviews.

I wonder if it is worth me boxing up the TV and taking it back to best buy to get this model for $20 more which is 5 inches bigger and almost the same in every other way it seems.

Either way, I am actually very impressed with the 5800 series. I have tried a couple of 3D movies and even tried the 2D->3D feature and I am pretty impressed.

Wait for a better deal. I'd say that if you could get Amazon to match (don't think they have this model), then it may be worth jumping on it if you're tax free from them and you're impatient. Otherwise, there have been several recent non-BF deals from Fry's specifically in the $450-500 range.

I really want to upgrade to a 3D TV and this seems like a good deal, but I've had 3 LCD TV's and none have come close to the picture quality of my older Panasonic Plasma. Decisions...
