Best time too buy a tv

I recently sold my tv and was hoping to purchase a new one, but I was wondering when the best time to purchase a new tv is.

Contrary to popular belief, the best time to buy TV is not right before the Super Bowl. The best time to buy a TV is from about 5 January until the third week of January, then again from the beginning of March until the end of March.

Also the best way to buy a TV is scanning things such as Amazon Warehouse. They every so often have a refurb listed for very cheap... that still gets the same warranties as a new TV.

When the new models start rolling out keep up with Target clearance. They will have some sets drop to 50% if people don't pay attention to the price. Last year many people got some crazy deals there like a 55" Panasonic Viera 3d TV for $400 or less. There were also some Samsung LEDs and other brands for dirt cheap. It's a gamble to wait until after 30% off so it might not be for you since you really need one. Those deals are more for someone who happens to catch it so they buy it to upgrade their current set THEN sell their old set to offset the price

All the tv's in WD I've seen say specifically used items usually aren't covered by the original warranty - am I missing something? I know my CC's extended warranty protection only applies to new as well...
