Double check to make sure it is the correct episode. I checked in with my 2 devices live and each one had a different episode and both of those different epis were not the bonus episode that was airing on tv. So exact same time and exact same show live sound recognized as two totally different episodes. Stuff like this happens all the time. I had to retry both a couple times to get the right epi on each device.
Whenever a show is part of a quest or has high bonus points, I always check that Viggle recognized the right episode. Fortunately, my manual check-in this morning is fine. Smilie

Was anyone banned for that - the NCAA My Guy 4x ads that would credit multiple times? I didn't hear anyone say they were and I wasn't. (Not advisable to try, just trying to remember.)
Yes, people were getting banned - not for 4x, but exceeding that by mashing, i.e. keep tapping before the ads roll off and get replaced. 4x Verizon ads were crediting 4x since that was the promo (4G - 4 times as fast Wink)

Pretty much - as discussed before - lots of point in a short time period = good chance for a ban. After the ban good luck with Viggle support...
What constitutes lots of point in a short time period nobody knows, but nobody got banned last Thursday with Hero VL and DTV Cinema crediting around 5000 points in 1 hour. People did get banned during basketball season for winning 1st place in multiple MyGuy games (set and forget) since they all pretty much ended at the same time. It's Viggle Wheel of Fortune Smilie

****Mashers and potential mashers*****

Here is a sample of the letter my friend was e-mailed in response from Viggle and never got her account back last February:

Hello,

I am sorry but your account was deactivated due to your activity with an advertisement on February 1.

Our systems monitor for suspicious activity such as extremely high volumes of activity or very fast rate of points earning. If it detects this type of activity, your account is suspended, which means although you can still earn points, you will not be able to redeem rewards until you speak with customer support. Some activity will trigger an automatic ban which means you won't be able to get additional points for the rest of the day. If the activity on your account meets a certain threshold or your account has been suspended three times, your account is automatically deactivated by the system.

Sincerely,

Tina

MASHING WILL BE CAUGHT AND YOUR ACCOUNT WILL BE DEACTIVATED!!!!
DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!

I hate that the newbies are asking about this and are being taught do something that is so risky. Old timers it is great that we answer questions but lets all try to be an example of ethical behavior!!!
It was more curiousity than anything. I wont risk being banned over an extra thousand or so points a day. I was more wondering if viewing every ad was mashing and knowing now what constitutes mashing, I most definitely wont do it. I understand im new here and new to viggle, but ive used other apps like this before and was just curious.

I didn't get banned. I redeemed a gift card last night. If they ban me then ohh well, I need a reason to quit anyway.

Last night I got ads around 3:30AM PST. The 125pt Hyundai ad came up. I mashed it with my Note 10.1 and got over 3500 pts. I finished the day with 8995 points.

FYI people have been banned for ad mashing in the past (even unintentionally) so just beware.

This is mashing Smilie
Hope they don't ban your account (remember Verizon ad mashing during ncaa playoffs?)

This subject comes up like clockwork. P925 hit the ad 28 times to get 3500 points. That is ad mashing. Watching two 5-point ads in a row is not ad mashing. As stated in the email Bestbuds posted, accounts get flagged (the 2045 error) for unusual or suspicious activity, and permanently banned (account status: inactive) if they go over a certain threshold of points per a particular period of time. Before anyone asks, we don't know what this magic threshold is. We only know that people have been banned in the past for earning too many points too quickly.

At one time, I think we figured out that we were probably safe watching an ad up to 20 times, but that may no longer be the case. When I get an ad that repeats (which hasn't happened in a long time), I watch it, pause for a bit, then watch it again. Personally, I wouldn't watch a repeating ad more than five times, just to be safe. Someone posted earlier today that their accounts were banned months ago and they still can't sign up for a new one. Each person has to decide if the extra points are worth the risk.

The Viggle app has changed so much since all that ad mashing and auto banning so it is much more difficult, if not almost impossible to ad mash anymore. If you see an ad, play it. If you still see it, play it some more. Viggle almost always reinstated accounts when it was discovered that it was their glitch. EVen after being permabanned (long story but got my account back) I would still play an ad if I see it over and over again.

If you get a series of different ads that pop up one after the other, it should be fine to watch them until they run out. I would give it a few seconds before clicking on the next one, but that's just me. Mashing usually occurs with only one ad that keeps repeating. The funny thing is, the ad repeats due to a programming error on Viggle's end, but it's the user who gets blamed for watching it every time it comes up. Viggle thinks we should know better than to repeatedly watch the ads (and yes, that is what they've told people who complained about getting banned). Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

For some reason, the Pit bulls and Parolees soundclip isn't working for me, including the alternate. Is this happening to anyone else?

Yep agreed. At one point it was discovered 40 was the magic number, at another point you got banned because of a point delay wherein all the points tried to come in at once. Have even seen bannings on high point viggle lives because of said delay and point rush. Overall,Viggle has fixed most of these bugs, and has always been pretty good about unbanning those who were banned because of their glitches. Im a bit of a risk taker, but I also cash out regularly so I usually have little to lose. That being said, I am on iOS and have not seen a mashable and/or repeating ad in a very long time. Those were the days..... Wink

For Pit Bulls and Parolees, I just checked in 5 minutes ago using the alt clip.

We need to keep info on quests that have ended so that we can keep track of which quest have given bonus and when to expect points. I received +200 bonus points for Pick your battle quest this morning and I had to check the past revisions of wiki to find information on it.

On another note, I think the Quest Bonus points count toward daily limit. The account that was maxed out didn't get the Quest Bonus points while other account that didn't max out received them.

The Hyundai ad is not mashable on iOS but is mashable on certain Android devices.Even then, certain android device allows mashing forever while others goes away after 2.

I think the people who have had accounts banned and not reinstated are not represented in this forum. For obvious reasons, no longer being able to use Viggle, they have stopped following or posting on this thread.

Be aware if you tempt fate-- Viggle has gotten much worse at customer service, they do not return calls and e-mails go unanswered. My friend that got the above e-mail could never get Viggle to respond to her again!!!!!

As for it being Viggle’s problem that the ads repeat or our problem that we hit the back button and repeat the ad, the outcome is the same. Viggle does not want us to watch the same ad over and over and over and get points. They have made this clear.

Everyone has to assess the risk/benefit ratio themselves.

Bottom line: If you like to Viggle, use methods they approve to get points.nod

Hey everyone, virgin at posting, veteran viggler though. Didnt see if anyone had the soundclip for Pit Bulls and Parolees from earlier. New to the forum, hope I can bring something good to the mix. If soundclip was posted already could you point out the time and date.
