Yes, you can. Kind of like Amazon where you can add them to your account right away and they stay there until you use them. I got a couple groupon and a couple gap tonight. I got burned with superpoints too
Thank you very much for your reply. I'm texting my wife right now and she's telling me you can use Gap cards at Old Navy. I'm not sure if that's correct but I'll follow a woman's intuition over mine when it comes to shopping any day.

You can use any of the Gap family of stores cards at any of their stores, they print with all of the logo's on them. So Old Navy, Gap, Banana Republic, Piperlime and Athleta (sp?)

Also, here was Tech Crunch's final statement on Viggle during the merger fall-out:
Quote :
...
In the meantime, Viggle seems to be burning cash at an alarming rate. Viggle had just $1.7 million in revenues through November, while spending $32.6 million on operations. While it’s making some cuts, it still expects capital requirements of $22 million through 2013. That new funding, when it comes through, should help keep it afloat. But Viggle will probably need to do more belt tightening if it expects to make a long-lasting business out of social TV. We’ll keep you posted on how that’s going.
Quote from Seola View Post :
In layman's terms, not only has it dropped 10% every day since the GetGlue deal fell through because Viggle didn't have the cash, but they are at a -5560% operating margin. In short, they are OUT of cash and running on loans (they spent $20 million more than they had in the 4th Q of 2012).
FWIW, I can't speak to their cash and loan situation, but for those who care, you can see pretty dire revenue and income (loss) numbers at http://finance.yahoo.com/q/is?s=VGGL and http://finance.yahoo.com/q/is?s=VGGL&annual.

For the latest quarter that's listed, they had revenue of $2.052 million but their net income was -$19.468 million. In other words, they lost $19.468 million.

For the fiscal year ending June 29, 2012, their revenue was $1.735 million but they lost $96.511 million. In other words, for that time period (June 30, 2011 thru June 29, 2012) they brought in $1.735 million but spent $98.246 million, yielding them a net loss of $96.511 million. Doesn't sound like a very good or sustainable business model to me.

I don't dare save up enough points to get to 62.5K points to get a Best Buy card since it takes so long. I'm only getting up to the 12.5K Starbucks point level and cashing out each time. Hope the Starbucks cards are going to back in stock soon.

You people are killing me...I need another 1500 to cash out GAP...if you keep talking about them going bankrupt then everyone will cash out and nothing left for me Big Grin

I think this might be the longest stretch that there was not a low priced reward available. Does not look good especially since they can't get advertisers to sign on, its been 3 weeks already with no ads.

The funny thing is they keep posting on FB to replies that the gift cards will be back soon. I wouldn't hold my breath.

Just to let everyone know- I was able to redeem a Gap giftcard about 10 minutes ago. I wanted Old Navy, but they were out when I tried 3 days ago.
I wonder if I just hit a snag and they restocked right away. I tried for a couple of hours to get Gap and it kept giving the the OoS. Glad to see it's back in.

I'm not sure if it matters, but I'm on the latest update for Droid.

Yeah, it's pretty bad when the owner is putting his own cash in just to survive. I'm not sure I've heard of a larger company ever succeeding with a need for that funding. This means Viggle couldn't even find 1/20th of their FY operating costs through an investor. O.o

[...]First, the problems: Though it's missing from Viggle's FB, they had several posts detailing issues with Droid players and MyGuy - that problem is not resolved. Though Droids got past the problem of not being able to select anyone at all, they also had issues this last weekend (which sucked for those of us trying to play in the sweepstakes). In an effort to quell the problems on the FB page and all the user problems, they went on a blocking spree and out of over 100 comments, almost 80 disappeared from one post, including some who were just outright curious and not being rude at all. Others asking questions on problems are ignored altogether - while Viggle will answer simple questions in the same post. They also removed posts that referenced issues Droid users were having when there was complaints about not being able to play during a Sweepstakes total with MyGuy football playoffs.

Now, the financials:
The deal with GetGlue fell through - and financials were made fairly public. Viggle lost millions and millions each of the last two quarters. [...] The reality was that Viggle couldn't come up with the cash, nor could they find investors. The stock is now listed as "distressed" - it's down to 84 cents a share, with a yearly high of 19.30 and at 2 yr, the spike was 1st Quarter of 2011 (February) at 107.80 when it opened as FunctionX, it's down to just 84 cents a share (down from 95 cents this morning and 1.20 this time last week).
[...]
In short, they are OUT of cash and running on loans (they spent $20 million more than they had in the 4th Q of 2012). Never a good sign. There are reports they've let go staff, which is also why we are seeing so many check-in problems, especially for Droid. Other speculation is that part of the reason they had to cap points, and remove rewards was because they cannot financially fulfill all the points that are given to people right now, especially after inking celeb endorsements like Dan Marino and all the ads they ran which cost millions. It brought in new users but they don't have the capacity to accommodate them nor buy anything that could.
[...]
It's a heads up to proceed how you choose but it's not uncommon for apps like this to disappear and not payout any rewards (their ToS's specifically allows them to do so). But since I did all the research today, and how awesome all you guys have been to contribute to Viggle for me for almost a year and everyone else, gaining points and such, I thought I should at least share what I know.
With the post above, I certainly don't want to cause a panic of sorts, but knowing they don't have the revenue to cover the points which is leading them to most likely purposely not stock gift cards... that's just not right and I wanted people to know. Especially since they are representing right now that there are rewards in stock that aren't, even though they are displayed. Since DirecTV is of partnership, then of course - that will be in stock and DTV gives those coupons out like candy to subs anyway. I'm not saying they will close down tomorrow but I do believe (IMO ONLY) they won't even make it past the first half of this year, if not the end of March. It sounds like they can at least go through March BUT - how many rewards will come available in that time?

Also to add to the financial pieces - to update on just how the owner got to $12.5 mil in the first place before giving another 2.5 mil:

"[Sillerman, the owner] originally announced in June at $10 million, he increased that credit line another $2 million in October, according to a filing from last month. But it’s still disheartening to think about a company burning through cash at such an alarming rate — especially one in a nascent market, which has yet to prove itself."

This means, he started with his own $10 million to cover what investors wouldn't. A quarter later, another $2 million of his OWN money. Then after this was posted, the next quarter, he pumped in another $2.5 million.

In my own personal opinion (not verified with anyone) - this is the very reason why there are also problems just to check-in at ALL. They cannot afford more servers to support more people, so they just keep adding them hoping to dazzle with user numbers and get some sort of revenue even if we can't officially use the service. Letting us check in just once every 90 days (their metric for "active users") is all that really matters to the financial numbers. With the 720 point daily cap on view points - that means it would take you 86.5 days, checking in for max points allowed to earn a 62,500 gift card for $25 with viewer points only. Since for some of us, we haven't been able to do anything to earn extra points since MyGuy is always crashing, the trivia is too, that's the only points I was getting. Even winning 3,000 extra points along the way only cuts off 4 days or so. It's 17+ days for a 12,500pt reward.
