FTL: Faster Than Light (PC Digital Download) $6

Today only, gog.com is offering FTL: Faster Than Light for 40% off the normal price of $10. No codes necessary.

I've been waiting to get this game for awhile but haven't seen it this heavily discounted yet, so I finally picked it up. It has gotten very good reviews (84 on Metacritic, 5-star user rating on GOG). Also, being on GOG, you get it DRM free - but for those who like Steam, a Steam key isn't given with your purchase.

Thanks forpeterssake for finding it - the FTL developer website matched the $5.99 sale price, which includes both a DRM free version and a Steam key. Wish I had seen that earlier, thanks again!

But I do want to point out that if you buy it straight from the website (http://www.ftlgame.com/) you get the DRM-free version and a Steam code. Best of both worlds. The transaction goes through the Humble Store, which is part of the Humble Bundle. The price is also discounted on the website to $5.99 to match the gog.com price.

Also if you buy the version from the developer, it includes a Mac and Linux version. Activation on Steam is just icing on the cake!

This is an incredible game. I paid full price and don't regret it one bit. My friends refer to it as Oregon Trail in space, with dysentery replaced by giant alien spiders Smilie

That said, it's a lot more complex than such a comparison really lets on. And challenging! I think I've got 3 wins in around 100 games, and that's actually better than others I know.

Long story short, jump on this if you have the slightest inclination to try it.
