last year they didn't tie it to anything. It was a free for all with a YMMV per cashier. If I found a cashier with no line, i'd ask if she would do multiple transactions until someone came along. Some said yes, some said no. The ones that said yes would get me about 50 dollars then i'd move along as to not attract attention.

for those who wants to buy amazon gift cards/kindle gift cards BE WARE
target no longer carries kindle and from my last visit, I couldn't find any amazon.com nor kindle gift cards in my local target store

No go this time around
Does not work this time around. First tried buying a $50 Target GC, no go. Then tried buying a $50 prepaid VISA card ($5 fee so would be $5 profit instead of $10) and also no go
