Saying the retail value of these is $400 should be illegal. I2-I3 clarity and color of H - L? A cubic zirconia will look more like a diamond than these and be bigger and cost less.

Retail value of $400? Of course not. These are comparable to department store stud earrings like Macy's, Kohl's, etc. They all inflate the retail value so they can say it's 50-70% off.
That said, Macy's has similar earrings (J-K, I1-I2) for $159. So, for $39.99 it's a good deal for what you are getting compared to retail stores. |

I guess the better comparison would be Zales [zales.com] (Princess instead of Brilliant, H-J, I2-I3) $90 and Netaya [netaya.com] (I-J I2-I3) $80? They both look like they may have better brackets/settings though.
