I see 1saleaday wont stop selling this laptop until I cave and buy one.

Some things

This is the new trinity architecture so the longer battery life is expected, however, why is the RAM only expandable to 8GB max when the Llano's (last gen, current owner) can carry 16GB RAM max?

I would buy if i didnt grab the last gen of this laptop only a few months ago, It's a "good" deal, but this machine wont truely fly until you stick a SSD in and use as boot/gaming drive. The card inside will beat Intel's HD 4000 any day of the week.

CPU in here is comparable to a slighty-lower spec i5, but with better battery life

No, more like an i3. But the GPU is where AMD throttles Intel.

Not a bad deal overall. Some overheating issues on BB reviews. Hope the webcam is a 1.3mp, and not a crap 0.3mp.

I don't understand, you say repost, then you post a link to this thread...

Anyways, looks like a good deal to me, I'm sure you'll know if it works or not prior to 90 days. I'm debating on picking one up since I may need a laptop for next semester. I really really really hate these 1366x768 displays though, but I can't find anything decent with a higher res that's affordable :\

crucial says that the m6-1035dx can handle 2 x 8gb.

iyou could try swapping in a 1080p display yourself. I know people say it can be done with the dv6 line; not sure if it can be done with the m6.

yes that was the same deal with last gen A8 AMD chips, people thought they could only go to 8GB, which was true, but the later A8 chips (in HP dv6 line) could go to 16GB max according to crucial. I think the 8GB max listings are an error on HP's side.

also wanted to add, I would compare this to lower i5 instead of i3 because even though it's a tad slower than the newer i5 chips, this is quad core, and most i3s are still dual core chips.

Order one probably gonna order another soon. Very good price for A10. 7.5 hr battery life is quite impressive. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/w...=c03383025
0 .87" (min H)/ 1.04" (max H) for is impressive. Thank you Selma. $400 is a good deal even for a refurbish.

Ebay user says u can use up to 8gb per slot. http://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-Pavili...5d36e929dc
