Assuming it was used 8hrs a day for past 2 years. That would be 8x365x2=5840 hours or just over 1/4 of its life used. Even then it would have a quite a lot of use left on it.

Note how it says UP TO 20,000 hours... That's the top end of a bell distribution curve...

Resolution is max 1600 x 1200, 4:3 aspect ratio (throw ratio 1.4 - 2.8:1). This is XGA (1024 x 768), not HD like some of the new LED projectors that are HD (1920 x 1080). I found this regarding the lumens (2500) and contrast ratio (1800:1):

Contrast Ratio for Gaming Projectors

Higher contrast ratios present those shadowy scenes with greater clarity and visual acuity. In fact, a high contrast ratio often gives you a brighter looking image.

I used Cowboom watcher plug-in to add the projector in my cart, it let me select from many projectors of their inventory. Many projectors have notes said "0 HOURS OF OPERATING TIME". Looks like a factory refurb to me.

LED projectors have non-removable engine/bulb. The life expectancy is at least 7 years, in general LED lasts longer than the crystal TV panel of a TV for example....

Hah, okay, you got me to order. =) (It's actually replacing a 1st gen 25lumen LED DLP projector so it'll be a huge step up)

From the review on projector central this has poor color rendition, 40% lower than stated light output and is more suited for data than home theater. Also has pretty severe rainbow effect. On the plus side long lamp life, can shut it off within 2 sec of powering down, no screen door effect and of course a great price...

Im about to pull the trigger cuz these go for anywhere from $600-900+ around the net...

does anyone know if it would do 3d? Or how exactly do know whether a projector is 3d capable?
