This lens gets great reviews. My only question is whether that focal length is not suited for a 1.6x crop, and it was designed to be used on a full-frame camera. You don't really see 64mm pancakes.

um... why wouldn't it? any lens is fine on crop.

I paid 699 from the Adorama deal. 18-55mm lens and 55-250 lens

is it worth returning and paying $200 more? How good is the 40mm lens??

I got same AF issues with 18-135mm, still good if you are not filming sports.

Great deal !! Ripped used BML to get 6 months to pay. It talks about 2% rewards back when you try to add 55-250 ( I didn't need that so I haven't added though ) does that cash back apply to bundle ( t4i+18-135+40 ) ? If yes how does the reward work ?

So this doesn't include the 2% off rewards? Seems weird to exclude some bundles

For the price (or heck, for any lens within about 3x of its price), the 40mm pancake is about as sharp a lens as you're going to find. It has some color fringing and a bit of corner shadowing (quite a bit on full frame, very little on crop), but in general it's a bargain gem.

damn, ordered the amazon t4i with bag deal a couple weeks ago. I went and bought the kindle credit from bestbuy with Chase freedom. I don't know if the 5% applies to kindle credit purchased at BB but I did it anyways. I didn't bother to come here to ask anyone. Effectively, it comes out to sub $900 for t4i, 135 stm, and 250mm lense. But damn, rather have a 40mm stm. And not worth the hassle returning and having $900+ in amzn credit sit around.

I already have a zoom lens and was going to sell the 55-250 II that i just got with kit. Anyone looking to swap my 55-250mm for your 40mm stm?

this is my first DSLR. I was thinking to get a entry level SLR less than 600 bucks. ended with +100 for Adorama deal. Now I dont want to spend more for a beginner like me. I'll stick with 699 itself. Self compromise any body here to support me??
