this drive gets hot? My kingston is never even warm. I need a small drive for a low profile case old pc but don't want ssd that's hot.

I do Econoship for $3.XX and it makes me sign in again and then back to the cart. Oh well.

EDIT: I called them and it worked.

Bought one. Are ssd's generally bad for storage? Now have 2 x 500gb hdd external. Would like to switch to ssd for external storage when 256gb are cheaper.

For bulk storage I would use reputable standard hard drives, being that you get more GB/$ and they are more reliable. SSDs are great for installing the OS and applications on to.

Backordered. So many potential uses for 50 of those though ... imagine a giant RAID 1100 or 6+1+1 setup with 20-30 of those drives, with read/write speeds in the GB/s combined with 1TB of storage. I'd get that for $200.

That's $0.05/GB or something ridiculously low like that. Unfortunately RAID cards that can sustain that throughput (LSI stuff) run in the $1000s.

My mom's pc has a sata 2 mobo, I have a kingston hyper x from the staples bf deal I was going to install for her but I'd like to use it myself. Would that have any benefit over this, other than capacity on a sata 2 setup? Thanks for any help.

TD switched to 4myrebate.com, which is one of the more reliable rebate processors now. Better than Parago, at least (which used to be the best 2007-2009).
