Thread Details

Sooooooo, I recently realized that Autoslash is basically dead. I don't really want to comb through every single coupon code out there. Is there a site that goes and identifies the best car rental option at the moment using all the available coupons/rental companies? I understand that it wouldn't cancel and rebook the appointment, just trying to see if there is one that tells me the best option right now.

TIA

I recently got a smoking deal on a car through the chase UR travel portal.

Lowest I could find elsewhere was like $680 for 15 days of fullsize, got it for $480 on chase.

I looked up LIH from 2/22-3/3 and its $301 for fullsize ($273 for economy).

So pretty close to what your getting through carrentalsavers.

edit: downside is you have to prepay but its fully refundable up to 24 or 72 hours (can't remember which)

Ya, what?????? Normally I get horrible deals through them. I can get a $400 flight on travelocity but they wanted $500 for the same flight or something.

I just checked and the same $273. Do you know if that is pre-tax? The prices on car rental websites doesn't seem bad until they throw in the $200 in taxes Frown It looks like it's $273 all in but I gotta be honest. It sounds too good to be true!

When I booked my reservation the price quoted was all in (thats what was charged to my CC).

I have heard their (chase) flights and hotel deals are pretty crappy but the rental cars seem to be super competitive (like you said almost too good).

I must be missing something. I need to pick up a rental car at the Denver airport from 12/19/2012 to 12/25/2012, and the travelocity rates that Zalyn returns are the same as the current rental rates I entered. An Economy car through Budget is listed at a total price of $234.19. I found a coupon code and went directly through the Budget site and found a total price of $205.

Since we're talking about rental deals... anyone know of a good one for Canada? I'm looking at renting a car in Montreal in mid-March... any advice on what sites to use would be much appreciated!

by going to Budget/Avis via google you get an undisclosed discount. It also stacks with a discount if you had rented from Budget/Avis before and are using the same computer/cookie.

Also fyi for Avis and Budget rentals Costco is the cheapest discount you can get.

If you don't mind bidding, Priceline "Name your own Price"is a great alternative, and you can save a lot!! Wink

This sucks ... I really liked Autoslash too. I saved like 65% on my last rental. I'll check out the other sites. Thx.

Autoslash IS NOT DEAD! You can't book initially with them but you can still book elsewhere and have them track your booking for a better deal.

You've done that recently? I have to admit that definitely intrigues me although I have to wonder why they bother to do it anymore if not just because they're nice guys.
