Guess what a postman dropped off today? Yes, U1A. I was surprised to get mail delivered today. I have not had a chance to play with it today, but hopefully over the next few days I may. Unless I decide to offload it to CL untouched and just wait for MX2 to get here...

I also wanted to update those who might had read about my issue with in4deals in the spirit of full disclosure and fairness: After nearly two weeks they responded to Paypal with the tracking number. I tracked it, and it showed delivered about 10 days ago. I started looking for the package from China. After much of finger pointing, etc., my best guess is that it would not fit into the mail box along with massive OMax catalog. Postman must had brought it to the front door, my mother in law visiting that day put the envelope and the catalog into the "guest" closet which is the next to the front door. We never use that closet (entering from garage or side door ourselves). With mother in law not mentioning it to anyone, it could have sat there until we cleaned that closet. So overall I was correct, in4dealz lost my order (which did get fulfilled) and would not find it (or bother telling me about it) for over 3 weeks. I am not sure why one needs to file the Paypal dispute to get them to find the order. So overall, they did get the order, they did ship it out, but the customer service there leaves a bit to be desired. My suggestion for those ordering there is to set up the account even if paying with Paypal, then your order information should stay attached to your account. That way if the ordering system gets messed up the same way it did for me, at least you will have some info. OM |

You guys that got it are "big teasers"!
It's xmas, so at least take it out of the box and test it and let us know how it works. Some the last week have said they got it, and would test it, but never get back to us on how it went , we are waiting, you got an audience, give it the thumbs up or down, and review it for us. ![]() happy holidays |

OK I got mine in, so far I am hoping that flashing the firmware to the latest version will fix all of the issues my roommate is having with it. tried installing crackle, it worked well enough at first to let him see the commercials that they show before the tv show, then it craps out with an error about not being able to access any content.. after rebooting the device and then running it again it errors out stating that it can't determine the location and therefore it can't determine if we are legally able to view the content....
Also getting intermittant issues with google play store not being able to see the network connection having to retry repeatedly before it will show apps to download. Also google play app crashes intermittantly. I am also going to look into downloading cyanogenmod for it also, but wanted to try the new firmware first |

Please let us know if loading CM is worthwhile for this. Thanks. OM |

well it appears that it is now bricked. it appears to now be stuck in the U-disk mode and won't boot normally anymore. Nevermind that even after successfully getting the livesuite usb driver installed on a windows xp pro SP3 system (as it won't work with windows 7 or windows 8) still resulted in the livesuite software being unable to detect the device when it was booted in u-disk mode.
I am so damn mad at this Piece of crap that I'm tempted to run it thru the damn garbage disposal. I've tried googling for "uhost u1a stuck in u-disk mode" but I am not having any luck. If I can't get this POS to work I guess I am going to have to try to go the route of getting a RMA and sending it back. If anyone has any better luck with finding a solution to the stuck u-disk issue can you share a link to the info? |

Sorry to hear about your bad experience. I'm sure you have researched this, but since I'm not sure which sites you went to, I'll post this link. http://tabletrepublic.com/forum/uhost-u1a/ If you already knew about it, my intent was to be helpful. I have seen people post about that problem in this forum room. I think they recommend Livesuit 1.09 . And something about holding the button. Maybe post your problem on that forum room and see if someone can help you their. Here is another place to look at for interesting stuff, at least these people are working of putting other stuff on the device. http://forum.doozan.com/list.php?6 Another place that looks interesting but go slow, because it may not be helpful, I don't have my unit to try it out.: https://www.miniand.com/forums/forums/2/topics/1 you guys that got it and are trying stuff, post links that you find useful. I posted these links above, but I have NOT used them yet, since I do not own this device yet, it's in the mail. ![]() So, if you found something you used that works, post it here for us, thanks. In the first link I gave, here is tweaks some people found useful. http://tabletrepublic.com/forum/u...-2808.html Last edited by richman; 12-26-2012 at 03:39 AM.. |

Evo, I wanted to express my overall thoughts to you and your posts as well as to others that come with or develop attitudes of negativity toward you.
You don't need to know much about me other than I've come to find balance in everything in my life. That being said: This guy Evo seems to work his azz off to read, post, and reply to every dang thing us "kids" say. Information and knowledge doesn't not come for free. NOT in MercA! (America...Trying to keep it entertaining) And knockoff devices, particularly android, which this guy has posted many of have been posted with well developed responses, warnings, and support. I was an overzealous culprit of EVO's posts some time ago for cheap 7" android tablets. They were no where near where they are today. I didn't need them then let alone the four that I bought and one came broken. It was my risk, my choice, and my mistake. Did I regret it and get a bit angry (not to his face) at Evo (in my head) for pushing this stuff then... YES! Am I now, with my recently found "balance" in life. NO. If you are mad, you are mad at yourself. As many stated before, there is risk with knockoffs and cheap versions of things. This person has put his time and effort into find such things. He definitely reaps the benefits and you know what... GOOD FOR HIM. I would rather pay someone trying to "make it" than some floozie foreign dealer saying an item will do all I want it to just because they want the sale at the moment in time. (I've only stayed in China, but they hussle. And can you really blame them? They have 1.3b people in competition) Even if he wasn't honest before or clear early on in his first major postings. This Evo has been more to this site than a lot of people have been AND he makes a living off it AND he seems to love what he does. I want to buy one of these Android Sticks. They are an amazing concept in my head. But I need the right price and the right amount of power (At least dual core) for my applications. As many Geniuses have stated on these threads before, don't expect perfection and expect to put in a little time and effort. Avoid being the lazy American I once was. Figure and work toward some cool BULL SHOOT now. IF, you have the time and the extra money. Otherwise, SAVE IT! You will have to support yourself someday. Merry Christmas -Cause that's what I celebrate. And... I WIN! GOOD DAY SIRS (Madams) |
