Mine came today and was hoping to hook up to my existing 5.1 speakers and realized this receiver doesn't support passive sub.

IE you have a sub that doesn't have a built in amp? I'm pretty sure most receivers on the market other than ones that come with low end HTIB setups wouldn't have a channel for the sub.

does this support zone 2 speakers?

Thanks!
It supports a second set of "front" B speakers, but they'll play the same material as the rest of the system, this thing is low end, you'd need to go several models up to get to something with a true zone 2.

Yep, no amp. My old JBL system was HTIB but the receiver had a pre-out and speaker terminals for the sub. I used to have a powered infinity sub hooked up but the surround disentegrated ,so I went back to the original non-amped sub from JBL.
I need to have my infinity fixed.

Got mine and I'm having trouble with it. If I plug all the speakers into the surround channels (not using a sub) I get no sound at all. If I plug the front left/right into Front B, I get sound from those two speakers alone. I know the speakers' impedance is lower than 6ohms. Could this be my problem? If so, how come the Front B channels work fine? Also, I should mention that when I go into setup the speaker configuration menu cannot be selected.

Anyone running into the same problem?

Are your speakers A enabled? There should be a Box with A and a box with B on the display, you can push the SP A/B button to cycle the setting. B is a stereo pair only so I'd imagine in B only mode you'd lose most of the speaker settings.

Thanks! That was definitely what was wrong. I appreciate the quick response.

Anyone else have their receiver stop working after a couple weeks? Mine doesn't seem to want to power on now, the passthrough lights still come on but nothing happens...

Still can't get all the channels to work. Only two big ones. And the remote doesn't work either. Any help?
