For my father who just purchased these:
http://www.amazon.com/Jamo-426-HC...words=jamo

Will this be a good receiver for the use of just getting good sound? Not a big fan that it doesn't pass 1080p

I have this currently: http://usa.yamaha.com/products/au...mode=model

Would love something with HDMI, since currently my HDMI devices go to the TV, then from the tv to the amp. Would this be a decent solution?

Been looking for my first actual receiver. I like to buy refurbished items first to see if I actually use them. This is what I've been waiting for! If I like the set up I will eventually upgrade everything. Thanks OP!

In for one. Great deal. Been eyeing an Onkyo for quite some time. This made me pull the trigger.

Almost jumped on this, but noticed it's only 60w per channel. Don't know now.
Ditto... too bad, been looking for a replacement for my old Onkyo with HDMI passthrough on the cheap

Does this show the non-HDMI inputs on the HDMI output?

Yeah, the 60w per channel and the horrible reliability track record of Onkyo receivers made me take my take my finger off the trigger. Seems like they have a whole bunch of these HTIB receivers as refurbs, so that's not a good sign. My wallet will live to die another day. lolBig Grin
